The Santa Clauses Before Season 2
Before starting, we will make a little reminder of the previous season.
STORY This story is a spin-off from ‘The Santa Clause (1994). It’s about a 65-year-old Santa Claus who reviews his work as Father Christmas, and the impact it has had upon his family. Even though his magic isn’t working, he looks forward to retirement. Simon Choksi, a tech entrepreneur, is also determined to build the largest delivery company in the world but is having a hard time with it. As the search for a new Father Christmas begins, their paths will cross.
The end of The Santa Clauses explained
Tim Allen starred in three Christmas movies between 1994 and 2006. Each film’s premise is based upon a different clause. The title Santa Clause (Allen) transforms Scott Calvin (Allen). Allen returned to the role he loved for sixteen years in “The Santa Clauses” after 16 years.
Before the Disney+ premiere, Scott was last seen in North Pole with Carol Newman (Elizabeth Mitchell), and their first child Buddy “Cal” Calvin-Claus (now performed by Austin Kane). The six-part series continues exploring the magical clauses. It also introduces Scott’s 13-year-old daughter Sandra, played by Allen’s real daughter Elizabeth Allen-Dick. The series begins with Scott’s Christmas spirit unusually low. This, coupled with his discovery about the Successus Clause, soon places him on the road to retirement.
Tim Allen, the show’s promoter, praised the writers’ ability to pull together threads from the original films to connect them with the present. What did this look like on the screen? We’ll explain everything that happens at the end of the series.
Charlie was raised and has a family.
Scott Calvin’s son Charlie (Eric Lloyd), was eight years old when the film was made. He was clearly delighted that his father was Santa Claus. They would spend many Christmas Eves together, delivering gifts all over the globe. As Charlie grew older and the film series progressed, his role diminished to the point that he was more of a supporting actor in “The Santa Clause 3”. Evidently, he continued on the same path throughout the years. He’s not even near the North Pole when “The Santa Clauses” kicks off.
The viewers find out where Charlie ended up in Episode 2. Charlie, now a thirty-something male, lives an independent lifestyle with Marie Gonzalez (Sofia Gonzalez), and their two sons. Marie doesn’t know Charlie’s father is Santa Claus. Scott approaches Marie to ask her to take over the family business. She thinks he works on an ocean fishing trawler.
Scott expected Charlie to jump at the opportunity. He’s shocked when Charlie tells him that he doesn’t want to because he doesn’t believe it’s a good place for raising a family. He also calls his half-siblings “weird” and suggests that he isn’t as involved in his father’s magic life. Charlie does not reappear in subsequent episodes, which is almost a confirmation of his beliefs. This is a surprising twist, but it allows for the plot to unfold in a new way.
Sandra is a potential successor to Scott.
It felt as if Scott would stay at the North Pole forever, live happily with Carol, and maybe pass on the Santa mantle one day to his sons when “The Santa Clause 3: The Escape Clause” ended. But life had other plans. Scott realizes that he is the problem as his Christmas spirit decreases. He decides to retire and let someone younger solve the problem. He’ll also be able to spend more time with his family, which is exactly what they want.
Scott asks Cal to carry on the Santa tradition after Charlie has passed on the big red coat. They can keep the Santa legacy in the family that way. Scott was left in a difficult spot when he crashed the sleigh one stage. Scott seems to overlook Sandra, his daughter, as a potential successor. We can only guess that it is because she is three years older than Cal.
Sandra is more interested in the family business than her older brother. In Episode 6, Cal admits that she is better at driving the sleigh than her brother. This is why she would make a great Santa-in-training. Scott, apparently unaware of this, continues to plan for his retirement and begins interviews worldwide for possible replacements before he and the family move to Chicago from the North Pole.
Simon is not meant to be Santa

Betty gives Scott a binder containing potential replacements when she discovers Scott is serious about his retirement as Santa. He interviews Peyton Manning, and then he talks about Tom Brady. Then he settles on Simon Choksi (Kal Pen) to be his Santa successor. It’s fascinating to note that Scott knows instinctively that Simon isn’t the right person for the job. He laughs at him during the interview, but he doesn’t take him seriously once he realizes how much Grace (Rupali redd) loves him.
Scott and his family enjoy their new life in Chicago. Simon soon makes a mess at the North Pole. His quest for progress manifests itself as a “Christmas Everyday” delivery system. It causes the world to be devoid of Christmas spirit, which in turn causes elves to vanish (since that is what gives them their life). But, the fault isn’t with “Fake Santa Simon,” which Noel (Devin Bright), calls him. Scott should not have retired in the manner he did. This storyline is a commentary about persevering when times get difficult. Scott was not the problem. He just needed to find a new approach.
Scott Calvin was selected to be Santa

Although it’s obvious to the audience immediately, Scott takes some time to realize that he shouldn’t have stopped being Santa. In the penultimate episode, Scott is finally shown the truth by David Krumholtz, his former head elf. Scott is taken to another realm, which Scott quickly calls the “Yuleverse”, to meet the Santas of the past. Scott has the opportunity to meet the 17th successor of Saint Nicholas. He’s Scott’s predecessor and fell from his Chicago room back in 1994.
Scott believes that he was born Santa Clause by chance. His predecessor, played by Jim O’Heir, reveals that just one man’s shouting can cause him to fall from a roof and then die. Scott was selected to be the next Santa Claus. We are shown why. A flashback to Scott’s childhood shows that he cares more about giving gifts to others than receiving them. This is the main theme of the series. But, what this scene does is show that Scott has always been Santa’s true power.
The Yuleverse revelation makes things different

Scott’s time in Yuleverse isn’t all that dramatic. It’s actually quite comedic. It also gives “The Santa Clauses,” one of its most interesting twists. The timeline that Scott and his fans believed they knew completely changes when it becomes clear that Scott was chosen to do the job. Scott believed there was no rhyme or reason why he became Santa Clause, but Episode 5 proves that this is not true. Scott hears Bernard explain to him that all previous Santas were ethereal entities made of magic and Scott is the first human Santa. It was the choice that his predecessor made.
Tim Allen was very focused on the resolution of unresolved plot points from the film franchise, such as revisiting Sara (the little girl from the original film). The Yuleverse revelation answers one of Allen’s biggest questions from the original film. It was not clear why the elves didn’t care about the death of the previous Santa. They did care. But he chose that ending for his story. In fact, they had been planning for Scott’s arrival for quite some time. Bernard confirms that Scott, Carol and Cal were the first human families to reach the North Pole. He also explains that all clauses were made for him to make his transition smoother. He never believed that it was all random.
Carol walks out of Santa’s shadow

Elizabeth Mitchell is a big character in “The Santa Clauses,” and she said she was excited to explore it. There are some hilarious moments, but also some more serious. She focuses on Mrs. Claus’ identity in some of her scenes. Carol is her “before name” and she sets out to discover why she doesn’t have a first. Carol is dissatisfied with the way she’s been presented to the world. She describes her as “void of personality and appeal, somehow humorless, while still providing comedy relief.” She longs for more, and eventually debunks some stereotypes like the one where she defeats all the nutcracker troops.
Carol discovers that Scott’s “Mrs. Clause” title was created for her reign and that she is actually the first Mrs. Claus ever. Carol discovers that Scott created the title “Mrs. Clause”, and that she is the first Mrs. Clause ever. She realizes that she has the power to make her identity what she wants. She isn’t finished pointing out the sexism inherent in patriarchal Christmas traditions. She speaks to La Befana, the Christmas Witch, in a quiet moment amid all the chaos caused by the return of the elves. They discuss Scott’s Yuleverse trip and comment on how all of the Santas he encountered were men. Carol’s claim of Mrs. Claus’ identity shows Sandra starting to step out from Santa’s shadow. Sandra has such an impressive mom to look up to, it looks like Sandra’s future is bright.
Grace stops her dad from becoming a bad man by stopping him from being a bad person

Simon believes he’s creating something amazing, but his drive to get more makes him a bad guy. Although his initial sentiment was positive, he was driven to make Christmas a great holiday. However, he lost all that made it special, including family, love and the joy of sharing. Simon’s story is a powerful reminder about how easy it can be to forget the most important things in life when power and money get in the way. Grace intervenes to stop Simon from ruining everything and reminds him that he is only her father.
This is a wonderful full circle moment that links back to the original movie. Grace is so similar to Charlie, even though it may not be obvious. They are almost identical in their energy, joy and passion. Charlie was blindly faithful and believed the same things Grace is. In the same way Charlie helped Scott to become a great Santa, Grace is the one who shows her dad the right course of action, even if it’s not becoming Santa. She also uses the memory snowglobe to show Scott her most memorable Christmas memories. This is what Charlie uses in order to convince Scott he’s meant for Santa.
Scott’s love and devotion to his family rekindles the Christmas spirit
Scott delivers an passionate speech on the importance of family in the finale. He believes that he has failed Christmas. His speech is ironic in that the passion, love and belief he expresses are what save Christmas. Scott has rediscovered the spirit of giving after his trip to Yuleverse. Tim Allen said that it was a significant moment and touched everyone behind the scenes.
This scene is a link to an earlier Yuleverse scene, where Bernard talks to all of his predecessors, who were questioning whether it was a good idea to have a human Santa. Scott, the former head elf, explains that, even though he did not believe so initially, he has been the best Santa he has seen in a thousand years. This is because he chooses to embody Christmas ideals.
In Episode 6, Scott decides to live up to those ideals once again. Despite the fact that they had lost all hope and the orb was looking dark, Scott chooses to still be Santa even though he is now in despair. He never lost that desire and acts generously by embracing his family, friends and former adversary Simon. This restores the Christmas spirit.
Scott spends Christmas with his family

One of the major plot points in “The Santa Clauses,” is Scott’s inability to spend Christmas with his family. He has been very busy during this time of year, so Scott never gets to enjoy a true Christmas. He wanted to spend more time with his family, and that’s why he decided to retire. After all that, they agree that Scott will take off his coat and that they will remain at the North Pole, where their hearts are. This isn’t an agreement to return to how things used to be. It wouldn’t be possible, considering all the characters have changed by now.
Scott is a unique Santa Clause, which allows Scott and his family to share Christmas together. He retired to be a better father and husband, but he has learned new things about himself. He says he is surrounded by “his team”. Cal calls himself Santa-in-training while they deliver presents on Christmas Eve. This completes his circle.
Santa Clauses has a moral message to viewers

Although “The Santa Clauses,” may seem like a simple tale about Santa’s misplaced retirement, it is so much more. There are strong themes throughout the series about morality, giving and taking, family, commitment, and other important topics. These themes are evident throughout the series, and many of them continue the lessons that the original film series attempted to teach. Simon’s story is a timely example of consumerism. Screen Rant’s executive producer Jason Winer stated that he believes it connects this amazing franchise and character journey with what’s going on in the world right now. “Consumerism has reached an all-time high. There’s a spirit that ‘What can you get?’ Instead of ‘What can you give?’
Simon calls his company “Everything Now!” Simon’s company is called “Everything Now!” and he makes a profit from Santa’s legacy and delivery system. The series also highlights overconsumption. It is especially evident in the scene in which Cal’s girlfriend Riley (Ruby Jay), sees, purchases, and receives a T-shirt in under two minutes. This scene simplifies the actual process, but it is still a valuable observation about the changes in the world since “The Santa Clause”, which was released at cineplexes in November 1994. Amazon was six months old when this happened. To buy Christmas gifts for people, you had to actually go out and pick something from a store.
