Although It Isn’t A New Concept, The Show’s Set In Paris Makes It A Refreshing One. And The Dad Also Has Three Daughters And Three Ex-Wives. It’s So European!

The Gist: Fred (Eric Judor), an osteopath, has three daughters and three ex-wives. Victorie (Midie Dreyfus), 12 years old, is his second ex-wife Marie Angele (Jeanne Bournaud). Clara (Liona Bordonaro), 15-year-old daughter of Laurence (Annelise Hesme) is the family’s activist. Romy (RoxaneBarazzuol), 9-year-old daughter of his third ex-wife Helena (Anabel) Lopez, is intelligent and very clever. He is a great friend to all of his ex-wives and watches them all on weekends.

Helena is able to send someone her way when she needs help with her neck. Emmanuelle (Daphnee CoteHalle), a Montreal-based doctoral student in child psychology, stops by his office to meet him. The two of them soon form a romantic relationship. Six months later, he is ready for Emma to meet his daughters. He also wants her to move in with them.

It seems that he hasn’t responded to his voicemails or texts, but it’s actually because Romy replaced Emma’s number in her contact. It seems that no one checks the number under their contact names. Romy sends Emma a text stating that she wants to end her relationship with him.

Emma doesn’t think she wants to leave. She’s already shipped her stuff back home to Canada, and she believes it would be better for her to finish her doctoral studies in Canada. Fred gets burnt by Clara’s natural facial treatments the night before Emma plans to leave. He also reveals some texts he thought Emma sent him.

Clara discovers what Romy was doing with Victorie’s help. Romy believes that their father has been lying about Emma and how serious it really is. Emma is not happy with Clara’s decision to force her sisters to accept Emma and her dad to dinner. However, she was changed by some new texts the next morning.

What TV Shows will it Remind You of? Weekend Family has a vibe that is very similar to the ABC series Trophy Wife but with a show that is more geared towards family viewing (and a better name).

Our take: There will be moments when Weekend Family created by Baptiste Filleul can get a little silly, particularly when Romy misdirects her father’s calls and texts to Emma, without him realizing. Weekend Family has more than enough family-oriented moments and warm moments to make it worth the effort.

We don’t know much about Fred and his three divorces and the difficulties involved in creating this complex blended family. For now, we are okay with it. Fred is at the stage of everything where Fred and his three daughters and three ex-girlfriends are happy. Emma’s presence will help to shake things up and create new relationships.

It would be interesting to see how the family has changed over time, perhaps in flashbacks. This will help Emma feel more confident that things will work out in the end. We appreciate that the girls love Fred, love each other, but they also have their sisterly disputes. All of their moms understand the importance of Fred staying with them every weekend.

All of the warmth and chemistry between Judor’s daughters and Judor is enough to keep us curious about the future.

Weekend Family has enjoyed a lot of success and fans have shown a lot of love. However, it is sometimes difficult to find shows like Weekend Family due to limited availability. This is not the case for this series, however, as you can watch it on Disney+.
