How Did Escanor Die in Seven Deadly Sins ?

Escanor’s demise occurs during the so-called Demon King Arc. The arc starts with Meliodas, Elizabeth, and their curses are now broken. They return to Liones with the rest of the Sins.

They soon discover that Elizabeth’s curse had mysteriously reactivated. Meliodas realizes that the Demon King hasn’t been destroyed and has taken Zeldris as his new vessel for survival. Meliodas rushes towards Lake Salisbury in an attempt to save his brother.

The battle is epic and unlike anything seen in the Seven Deadly Sins anime. After giving their all, the Deadly Sins defeated the Demon King and also released Meliodas’ brother. Escanor declares that everyone is waiting to receive the remaining Commandments, and it’s now their turn.

They must return together with sadness. The Sins confirm that Escanor is already dying. His body has become so badly burnt that it is eroding and he is unable to move. Escanor states that he has no regrets and thanks everyone for giving him the opportunity to meet them all. He offers a few last words to everyone.

Gowther is told by him that he was his best confidant; he wishes Diane good luck, even though he won’t be able to attend the wedding; Elizabeth asks Mael to send greetings to the King, the whole of Liones, and he thanks Mael. He suggests that Ban relax with a drink and then he tells Meliodas that his entire life is his debt to him and that he is a true friend.

Merlin finally hears Escanor admit to his love for her. This was not to remind Rosa, but because Escanor looked at Rosa, spoke to him and formed a bond with him. Merlin claims that he didn’t give her enough credit as she found him fascinating, and not because she saw him only as a test subject.

Escanor claims that this is more than enough to make her happy. It means that he can exist in a small corner of her heart. Merlin is afraid that it’s too late to do anything, and she wishes that she met Escanor 3000 years ago. Escanor assures her that he will always be there for her, no matter her decisions, what crimes she has committed or what sins she is accused of.

Surprised, Merlin questions Escanor if he knows of his sin. Escanor says it’s just a feeling since she has always had that sad look on her face ever since they met. Escanor’s body starts to burn, and he asks everyone to leave. But everyone wants him to go.

To everyone’s surprise, Merlin approaches Escanor and kisses him. Escanor then burns away. Merlin informs Escanor that he will never be able to love again, but she will keep the burns as proof of her love for him.

Escanor recites his last words as a poem and then his body falls apart.

Can Escanor Resurrect His Life in Seven Deadly Sins ?

That’s a bit tricky, right? Escanor could, theoretically, come back to life. Seven Deadly Sins is as supernatural and bizarre as it gets. It’s not unusual for characters to come back to life. This seems very unlikely.

Nakaba Suzuki wanted the sequel Four Knights of the Apocalypse to be as distinct as the original, even though it was set in the same universe as the original and is a continuation of the story. This decision means that Escanor is no longer relevant as a character and there are not many chances to see him again.

Escanor’s skill and Powers

Escanor is the strongest member of the Seven Deadly Sins. He easily defeated Galand, Melascula and two of the Ten Commandments when the sun rose, while Ban and Jericho couldn’t do anything against these two powerful Commandments. Allies and enemies regard Escanor’s strength as monstrous.

Estarossa was one of the most powerful of the Ten Commandments and refused to believe that anyone so powerful could be human. She was paralysed by fear of Escanor’s might.

Even Meliodas the leader of Sins recognized Escanor’s strength. Merlin is also confident in his abilities, and recognizes Escanor to be the only one who can stop Meliodas from returning to his former self.
