Bicolor gemstones are obtained by completing FATEs in particular areas. The process is part of the Shared FATE system which was implemented during the Shadowbringers expansion and then continued into Endwalker.

This is a list of zones that are part of shared FATEs:

Shadowbringers

  • Lakeland
  • Amh Araeng
  • Il Mheg
  • Kholusia
  • The Rak’tika Greatwood
  • The Tempest

Endwalker

If you complete any FATE in these zones, you will be rewarded with 12 bicolor stones. Certain FATEs are simpler to complete than others.

FATEs that can level-sync you to the level cap for your respective expansion will take less time to complete because you’ll be killing mobs more quickly: Level 80 for Shadowbringers, and level 90 for Endwalker.

Be aware that lower levels of FATEs also create lower-level mobs.

Thus, while all these FATEs take longer to finish than some FATEs, the level 76 or 86 FATEs are the most efficient.

You should also try joining FATE-related farming groups if you happen to stumble across one. Don’t forget to invite your Chocobo friend to be a part of the party.

Gemstones that are earned through participation in Shared FATEs may be used for a variety of things that range from crafting supplies to minions to Chocobo bardings.
