“Cable Girls season 6” aka “Las Chicas del Cable” was Netflix’s first Spanish-language original series. Netflix’s Spanish series, including ‘Money Heist’ and ‘Elite’, have been a huge success since ‘Cable Girls’. The final season’s first episode was released on Valentine’s Day, and it was set during the Spanish Civil War.

Review

After Lidia’s arrest, we were reintroduced to the story with Lidia at a reeducation camp. Romero murdered Carlos, but it’s deceptively presented as a suicide. Carmen, the camp’s head, believes Lidia is to blame for her son’s death. However, Marga escapes with the support of her allies and is eventually arrested.

Lidia is determined to keep her safe and seeks the assistance of Carmen’s daughter Elisa. Elisa helps people escape from ships; Lidia also wants the inmates.

Unfortunately, the rescue mission results in casualties, including the death of Elisa by Romero. Carmen is determined to avenge her daughter and agrees to assist Lidia in reaching Romero.

Carmen doesn’t give up, even though there is a sense of betrayal imminent. She later commits suicide.

Carmen’s boss pursues the escapees, but they persist and get closer to Spain. It doesn’t work out, and Lidia, Marga, Oscar and Carlota meet officers from the regime.

The women are seen staring at each other and it is strongly suggested that they were killed and shot by officers.

Their deaths were not without purpose.

We see Pablo and Francisco etc. It is clear that these women pursued freedom and gave up their lives for their friends.

They make the ultimate sacrifice in the end. It makes more sense to show their heroic and triumphant lives than to glorify them. They are somewhat immortalized in their image of power, defiance and courage by not revealing the details of their deaths.

It’s a beautiful image that is inspiring. They don’t really die, but they live on through their heroism.

CABLE GIRLS Season 5 ENDING EXPLAINED

Okay, let’s just get this out of your way. The Cable Girls (and Cable Guy if Oscar is included) are dead. Our heroines seem to have found their happy endings after arranging a huge prison camp escape. The Cable Girls devised a bold plan to save the day when the train they are on with their children, friends, and lovers is stopped by a military barricade.

Lidia, Carlota and Marga all gave themselves up to the authorities. Although they pretend they are making an agreement, they actually surrender to the authorities. They tricked the military men into giving them a journal containing state secrets Lidia had retrieved from the prison camp. They are claiming to be trying to save everyone by using this journal as leverage, but in reality they have snuck a powder into the book’s pages. This powder can render a person unconscious if it is touched.

Our heroines steal the guns of their enemies and remove the barrier that blocks the train. Although it looks like they may be able to make it to the train on time, a new contingent of Nationalist soldiers arrives to open fire. Oscar and the girls take cover in a shack. Lidia says in voice that she could see their lives leading up to this moment. The foursome then share a scene from earlier Cable Girls scenes, and an emotional moment in which they pledge their love.

The final minutes of Cable Girls see Oscar, Carlota and Marga leave the shack to confront the soldiers. The program cuts to black so that we don’t see the girls being mowed down by machine guns. However, the next screen confirms the statement: “The Cable Girls gave their lives for a better world.” Cable Girls pays tribute to all the women who have sacrificed their lives in order to create a more egalitarian world. Next, we see their loved ones escape to freedom.

Plot

The first episode of the final season featured Lidia (formerly Alba), who was tired of Carlos’s inability to stand up to Dona Carmen. Lidia and Francisco also adopted Angeles’s daughter Sofia. After Sofia leaves America to fight in the Civil War, the season picks back up years later.

Lidia travels to Spain in search of Sofia and meets Carlos. Carlos became a general fighting during the war. Although things get tense between Lidia & Carlos, they quickly come to terms. This is however short-lived as Lidia is taken by the Army and Carlos shot to death. Marga, who is pregnant, and Julio, his twin brother, are reunited with Pablo. American journalist James Lancaster, whom Carlota may have had feelings for, was to be deported. Francisco had already made his way to Spain.

Francisco might have been able to keep Sofia alive but his new mission is to find Lidia in this final season. We know he will also mourn the loss of Carlos, his best friend. Dona Carmen is also a leader at the camp where Lidia is held.

Cable Girls Season 6 Release date

Cable Girls Season 1 was released on April 28, 2017. It received positive reactions from both the audience and critics. Cable Girls’ latest season ended July 3, 2020. Fans are eagerly awaiting the sixth season. The makers made it clear that Cable Girls Season 5 will be the last season.

Cable Girls Season 6 Storyline

Cable Girls’ sixth season is not under consideration. The makers could continue the story after Season 5, or restart the show. The main premise states that a modern telecommunications firm was founded in Madrid in 1928. There are four women who join the company and each one has a reason to be employed. Alba Romero is the first and she wants to complete a mission. Angeles Vidal is a mother who works to support her family. She can also operate switchboards for the company.

Carlota Senillosa would prefer to be free from her controlling father. Marga Suarez wants to start afresh. This documentary shows the hardships that working women faced in the past and the limitations they faced in an era dominated by men.

Cable Girls Season 6 Cast

It is impossible to predict the lineup of Cable Girls Season 6, since it has already been cancelled. However, if the producers decide to bring the sixth series, the expected cast members are Blanca Suarez and Maggie Civantos.
