Fate: The Winx Saga Season 2 & 1 Characters & Cast

With the release of season 2 of the Winx, we picked up with the fairies in Alfea after the end of season 1, with Bloom holding the omnipotent dragon flame that allowed her to save the world.

This being stated, after these 2 seasons of Fate: The Winx Saga, many charismatic characters have confirmed themselves. Here’s a ranking based on their performance and their significance within the story.

Fate: The Winx Saga Season 1 & 2 Characters & Cast Ranked

22. Vanessa

Vanessa Bloom Mother Fate: The Winx Saga Season 2 & 1 Characters

Vanessa is Bloom’s human mother who lives in the common mortal world. She is not aware of her daughter’s magical abilities, believing her to be attending a fancy boarding school in Switzerland.

21. Ivy

The first kill of season 2 is Ivy, a specialist who wanders away from a campfire hangout in the woods for some alone time with Devin. While making out, Devin feels someone watching them from the bushes. A hooded figure materializes and uses magic to mind-control Ivy into stabbing herself in the neck with two small daggers. It is an impactful moment that starts the first episode of Season 2 with a bang, one from which she will not be returning.

20. Devin

Immediately after Ivy’s demise, Devin is attacked by a scraper from the Realm Of Darkness. Devin doesn’t reappear until Episode 2, where he is being held captive and probably being experimented on. He wakes up with memory flashes of Rosalind and no longer has his powers. After finding his way back to school he falls into a coma until Terra’s cousin, Flora, administers an untested remedy which wakes Devin but is also killing him. He seeks out Rosalind to attack her for what he thinks she has done. Terra and Flora try to save him with the antidote, but Rosalind intervenes and allows the poison to kill him. He is presumed dead but shows up in Episode 3 having been revived by Rosalind.

19. Marco

Marco is the Air Fairy that led the battalion against the Burned Ones in Season 1. This season he teaches the students and helps them realize their full potential in a self-defense class. Andreas comes to visit him in his classroom while he is grading papers. While Marco isn’t looking, Andreas strangles him to death with a sleeper hold. It’s possible that the chokehold only knocked him out, but Marco is not seen again for the rest of Season 2.

18. Ben Harvey

Ben Harvey Fate: The Winx Saga Season 2 & 1 Characters & Cast Ranked

Ben is a member of the Alfea faculty who specializes in teaching botany. He is one of the senior figures at the institution and has two children attending the college.

17. Queen Luna

Queen Luna is a recurring antagonist from Fate: The Winx Saga. She is the reigning monarch of the fairy realm of Solaria and the mother of Princess Stella, is popularly known as the Queen of Light and is one of the most powerful fairies in all the realms.

She is very controlling, especially towards Stella.

16. Dane

Dane in Fate: The Winx Saga

Dane is a first-year student and a Specialist who has heart but falls in with the wrong crowd. Eager to impress the rebellious duo Riven and Beatrix, he risks losing the people who care about him the most.

15. Sam

Sam is a student at Alfea College who Musa instantly feels drawn to, sensing his presence every time he enters a room or passes by.

14. Headmistress Farah Dowling

The role of the headmistress of Alfea acquired a name change within the Netflix show. The 2004 animated version has her titled Headmistress Faragonda. These two characters are widely different. Dowling (Eve Best) is responsible for bringing Bloom to the Alfea school and promising her to help harness her powers.

But she’s also strict and hard on the students hoping to prepare them for what’s ahead. Dowling remains a mentor to the main characters. The Netflix version also has more secrecy as she refused to tell Bloom the truth and what happened with Rosalind. The animated version is more bubbly, uplifting, and teaches Convergence whereas Dowling is a mind fairy.

13. Saul Silva

Silva in Fate: The Winx Saga

Silva is the headmaster of Alfea College who teaches the Specialists how to become ruthless fighters. He is close friends with the other senior faculty members Farah Dowling and Ben Harvey, in addition to having a bond with Sky having raised him almost like a son.

12. Andreas

Under the mind control of Sebastian, Andreas attacks Sky and Silva during their mission to rescue Beatrix. Bloom finds Sebastian and breaks his control over Andreas, but only momentarily. Andreas looks over to Sky and tells him to put an end to it. Once Sebastian regains control, Sky reluctantly stabs Andreas through the chest. He kills his father after just getting him back with a purpose to save Silva, the specialist that raised Sky from a boy.

11. Sky

Sky (Danny Griffin) went through some minor modifications in the Netflix show but still holds to being the golden blonde, kind and handsome male lead. He is similar to the animated version of himself, both characters serving as the chief of the Specialists and top warriors. He also ends the show by starting a relationship with Bloom, but his backstory is revealed and differs from the original.

Sky, Sky, Sky, always Sky… he is just a big useless jerk, nothing more.
Apart from serving as a princess in distress and as a daddy’s boy in season 2, he didn’t bring anything unfortunately.

10. Riven

Riven (Freddie Thorp) is certainly one of the characters who had one of the biggest character modifications from the original animated show. The Netflix Winx gave him a bigger role and backstory. Riven remains a Specialist and Sky’s best friend. He is also still rebellious and a bit standoffish, but fans have been shocked to see that Riven becomes smitten with Beatrix and starts a relationship.

Along the way, he becomes convinced by Beatrix that what she’s doing is the right thing. By the end of season 1, Riven supposedly joins forces with Beatrix in helping Rosalind take over the Alfea school. Fans did get to see some heated chemistry between him and Musa, it showcased a possible relationship like in the animated version.

Good performance this second season both in action and emotion which put it above the other 2.
Well according to you Flora has it friendzoned? I hope not, they are both cute. But the lucky one has 2 love interests at the end of season 2 with Musa. For you, pro Flora x Riven or pro Musa X Riven.
Give me your best couple in comments.

9. Terra

Fans have been perplexed to see that the Netflix Winx made a drastic change to one of the original characters in the animated show. It created controversy over possible whitewashing. It is because the clearly non-white earth fairy, Flora was switched out for Terra (Eliot Salt). Both characters still have the same fairy powers and control over plants and nature.

The Netflix show tries to give some explanation by having Terra mention her cousin, Flora. Terra still has the same bubbly, sweet, and understanding personality that made the character Flora so lovable. But the Netflix version gave her more emotional baggage to deal with. Terra has a hard time relating to her suitemates, she also has a brother and father who works at Alfea.

For those of you who watched season 2, you know the love story… well, let’s just leave it at that. I think Netflix is abusing it by putting in this kind of love story that sometimes destroys the storyline. Write better ones! and we won’t have anything to say.

8. Aisha

Fans of the original might have seen that Aisha (Precious Mustapha) went through some personality modifications in the Netflix show. The animated Winx and the Netflix version have many similarities like being a water fairy, a love for swimming, and being highly devoted.

In the Netflix version, Aisha is more straightforward and could be blunt at times, telling Bloom she’s a changeling or snitching to Dowling about their plans to see Rosalind. Both versions, however, prove to be a useful friend to the others. The animated Winx introduced her in season two and she was once engaged. It remains to be seen what Netflix will do with this character’s future.

Her story with this random guy was too forced to seem natural. Not liked, but pretty good performance overall.

7. Beatrix

Fans of the original Winx realized who Beatrix’s (Sadie Soverall) character was probably meant to represent from the original Winx. The Trix were a group of three fairies working as antagonists in the television show. One of them was Stormy, a fairy with the ability to manipulate weather and lightning.

The Netflix show only gave viewers one of the three characters, Beatrix. She possesses the same snarky and evil demeanor and the same type of powers. Early on it’s revealed that she was working with an unknown enemy to infiltrate the college and rescue Rosalind. Fans question whether or not Beatrix either represents all three Trix or the other fairies will be introduced afterward.

Antagonist then Protagonist then Antagonist Then Protagonist, A Masterclass for Beatrix in this Fate Saga Season 2.

6. Rosalind Hale

Much of Rosalind’s personality remains to be seen, but she appears cold, seemingly resulting from combating Burned Ones for so long. She appears reasonably manipulative and is extremely confident. She overtly threatens people with her magic, such as Dane and Riven, and has no quarrel with killing her former protege. She modifies a similar story as many times as it takes and as subtly as it takes, or outright lies, to persuade people to follow her.

She appears to care for Bloom and Beatrix, although she’s seemingly utilizing them for their excessive magic potential. She doesn’t seem to have lasting relationships that she will not end straight away. Although, Bloom is probably the loophole for that rule.

Her death is like the cherry on the cake, in fact what was her goal? To control the world? … I think that in the first place it is immortality that she should have sought.

5. Stella

Stella (Hannah van der Westhuysen) went through quite a bit of change in comparison to her animated version. She’s still the crown princess who must at some point take the throne of Solaria, but her powers are titled slightly differently. The Netflix show calls her a light fairy whereas in the animated she’s a fairy of the sun. Both versions differ in personality.

Stella from Netflix is more uptight and slightly more immodest. She also appears to use anger to fuel her powers the way her mother, the queen, taught her. Stella also suffers emotional trauma resulting from an incident with her former best friend. She also has a previous relationship with Sky. The animated Winx has her in a relationship with another Specialist character and overall she’s more light-hearted and carefree.

Well, it’s right up there when you combine the 2 seasons.
She was very useful for the scenario, and her transformation is the most successful.
Even if it seems minimal she somehow convinced Beatrix and brought the whole team to the villain which has a significant impact towards the end.

4. Musa

Musa (Elisha Applebaum) is a part of the original Winx but her powers differed in the Netflix show. Musa is an empath with the capability to feel others’ emotions and is titled a mind fairy. She also has the power of pain manipulation. The animated Musa’s powers are primarily based on sound waves and her official title is a music fairy.

In both versions, Musa wears headphones for different reasons. The Netflix Musa uses them to block out other people’s emotions. Both lose their mom, but Netflix’s Musa is traumatized resulting from feeling everything due to her powers. Netflix also has her date Terra’s brother whereas the animated Winx has her in a complex relationship with Riven.

For her, nothing to say, even if she doesn’t have a big impact on the final outcome, she gave a lot by her writing of the character who is the most successful after Bloom in season 2. Hence this 4th position.

3. Flora

Flora Fate: The Winx Saga

Flora is a character who appears in the second season of Fate: The Winx Saga. She is portrayed by Paulina Chávez.

Flora was mentioned to be the second cousin of Terra.

Flora is sweet, friendly, and shy. She’s often very passive and non-confrontational, which shows in her use of magic and often comes at the expense of her self-esteem. Above all, Flora is an extremely nurturing individual. She cares deeply for the Earth and nature, but also for people, significantly her friends. She struggles to believe in herself and her abilities, but has no issue in believing the best concerning the other members of the Winx Club.

To put her 3rd is a whim, she is so perfect! Her acting is incredible!
She served a lot in every part of the scenario like with Musa, Terra and without her sacrifice, the Winx could never have saved Bloom and fought Sebastian.
In fact, if we were in a soccer team she would be the point guard.

2. Sebastian

He was the main antagonist character of Fate: The Winx Saga Season 2.

After Beatrix’s sacrifice, the ladies from the suite all arrive to team up on the enemy. Once Flora gives up her magic and uses herself as bait for the Scrapers, the ladies can all unleash their power and concurrently awaken their transformations. Bloom uses the remaining Dragon Flame she channeled into the Conversion Stone to join in. From the center of the four-way blast, Sebastian slowly disintegrates into nothingness, rounding out a lethal season for Fate: The Winx Saga.

The antagonists really lack willpower this season. In fact, I’m even shocked at how he died like dust. All that power for nothing. Isn’t there a fairy that teleports itself?
So either the fairies are very weak or they use their power very badly.

1. Bloom

Bloom Fate: The Winx Saga

Bloom went through some fascinating backstory and personality modifications that weren’t seen in the original show. In the 2004 versions, Bloom is adopted after her planet gets destroyed. The Netflix Bloom is a changeling and was swapped with another child in the First World. Both harness an indescribable Dragon Flame power that makes her a special fairy.

Bloom

The Netflix version is not the sweetest and easiest to get along with Bloom that the animated Winx portrayed. This version is a loner, an introvert with some anger issues, and pushes for what she wants to know. Bloom in this version has much more emotional baggage having never known who she really is. Additionally, the animated Winx version of Bloom is a princess whereas the Netflix show has yet to show who her parents are.

The story revolves around her and her identity. If she was behind it then the story would be poorly written 🙁 and I think the latter was well developed.
