His next appearance saw him was next to Kitts Verman who wanted to instruct his troops to take down Mikasa as well as Armin Arlert as well as his fellow Avenging Titan. Ian was able to stop him because he was aware of the value of Mikasa and the death of Mikasa would be a major loss for the military.
