In Aot, Flagon Tarlet was a senior officer of the Exploration Battalion. He was also in the team of Livai Ackerman and Furlan Church, and was their leader after they joined.

He was slim and a young man with unruly blond hair that had a slight curl. He was a bit pompous.

PERSONALITY Flagon Aot

In Aot, Flagon appeared to be distrustful by nature. He also had many social prejudices about people from the Underground City. This did not make Livai’s relationship easier.

He was a brave man who took care of his subordinates’ lives even though it meant putting his own life at risk. He refused to leave Furlan, who had fallen from his mount, to his fate. This led to Furlan’s death.

HISTORY Flagon Aot

844 was when Major Keith Shardiz called the four Captains to discuss the integration of the Underground Trio. He objected to the proposal from Erwin Smith which would discredit his battalion. Keith was able to understand his position and he followed Erwin’s lead.

Keith introduced the trio to the troops, then assigned them to Flagon’s squad. Unpleasantly, he was surprised by the Major. He asked the latter if he had any questions. Flagon replied that they were not attached to the person whose idea it was. Keith replied that Erwin was required to help him organize a new troop formation.

The squad leader reluctantly led the new recruits into their guesthouse and asked them for cleanliness. Furlan intervened and stopped this social stigma from spreading. Flagon made a promise to Furlan before he left that he would teach him how to do the military salute after noticing that Furlan was putting his hand on his heart and wanting to welcome him.

He clashed with Livai again the next day before training. He reproached him for not properly holding the blades. Livai replied insolently to him that he wouldn’t last long if he tried his technique. Flagon observed him practicing and was impressed by his skills, but he doubted his reliability and pointed out that his presence could cause discord within his group.

A few months later, Livai, Isabel, and their first extramural mission, Isabel believed they would succeed. Sairam was furious and turned against them. Flagon instructed his subordinates to calm down and keep their eyes on the mission. They would soon realize what they really were worth on the ground.

A twenty-meter-long Deviant Titan charged toward the supply cart when they reached a forest. Flagon’s team was to stop the supply cart from being destroyed. Flagon was annoyed that such a task had been requested of his squad, which was recently renewed and therefore was relatively inexperienced. He was attacked by three of his soldiers, but they were killed quickly.

They were now down to five men, and Flagon didn’t want to lose more. He decided to act himself, with the help of Sairam. But the trio beat them and eliminated the titan.

As a base camp, the battalion set up camp in a small bastion built from ruins. Flagon briefed his soldiers on the new combat formation Remote Sensing Form and then gave them advice and directions.

They would then be assigned to the role of liaison officers in the fourth line, with the responsibility of riding the horses and relaying information.

He observed that the team was lacking cohesion but had good elements. He then told them about their poor financial situation and how the success of the next-day’s operation would improve it. This convinced them to give more support to the battalion.

He was again subject to heavy rains and thick fog the next day. He lost sight of the trio at one point and only Furlan was left. Isabel was his only hope. Due to the fog, they were confronted by a horde of Titans. Sairam, the first to pass through, was taken by a titan. His leader, who was willing to assist him, told him to go and take care. Furlan, who had fallen from his mount with damaged equipment and Isabel, who had died shortly before, was in danger.

He was saved by him. He advised him to ride a horse in order to escape this hell. Furlan warned him that another titan was coming up behind him and grabbing him. He didn’t react fast enough. Furlan’s grappling hook failed, and he was unable to get help. He ended up being eaten.

RELATIONSHIP Flagon Aot

KEITH SHARIZ

Although he didn’t always agree with his boss’s decisions, he did so anyway. Keith, on the other hand, seemed to intimidate him but he didn’t insist.

ERWIN SMITH

Erwin’s risk-taking led to him being in conflict frequently. He called for caution, but he was not afraid to take risks. He had faith in his comrade’s intelligence, especially when it came to the making of the remote detection formation .

SAIRAM

Sairam was a man that he trusted and with whom he worked to defeat titans. Although they got along well, Flagon sometimes had to intervene in order to restrain the impulsive nature of his companion.

LIVAI ACKERMAN

Flagon couldn’t stand him. Flagon found him arrogant, insolent, so he did not hesitate to explain. Although he was aware of his talent, he doubted his ability to trust him. He feared that he might trigger a cataclysm in the battalion.

ISABEL MAGNOLIA

They had a very difficult relationship with Isabel. Like Livai, she liked to laugh at orders and advice. He seemed to be attached to her. For example, he was happy to see her alive after she had been lost for a while in the fog.

FURLAN CHURCH

Furlan’s calm and respectful nature made him the most compatible of the three, and the only one to refer to him as “leader”.

Flagon seemed to be attached to his subordinate and was happy to see him return alive after having lost him to the fog, then risking his life in order to save him from the titans.
