Major Review
MAJOR is the story of a brave soldier. 1995 is the year. Sandeep Unnikrishnan (Adivi Sesh) lives in Bengaluru, India with his mother Revathy and his father Prakash Raj. Sandeep is a student who has made plans to join the defense forces.
After being rejected by the Navy, he tries to enlist with the Army. He succeeds, and he proves to be both a brave and a kind soldier. He marries his childhood sweetheart Isha (Saiee M Manjrekar). He is now the 51 Special Action Group (NSG) training officer in Manesar, Haryana.
He is so focused on his work, he can’t give Isha any time. He receives a letter from Isha on November 26, 2008. It urges him to immediately fly to Bengaluru, where she is based. He is forced to cancel his ticket after learning that Mumbai has been attacked by terrorists.

To save the people and stop terrorists, he flew with his regiment to Mumbai. The rest of the film is about what happens next.
Adivi Sesh’s story may seem a little clichéd, but it works. Adivi Sesh’s screenplay, with script guidance from Abburi Ravi, is very effective, especially when the 26/11 track begins. He sprinkles some touching and exciting moments throughout the story. Akshat Ajay Sharma’s Hindi dialogues can be sung and spoken, while some one-liners can be quite sharp.
MAJOR begins on a high note. Both the romantic and childhood portions are acceptable. Initial scenes of training seemed routine. The scenes where Sandeep gives water to his colleague, and when he bows down in the army mess in respect are not common. It is a very important juncture that the intermission point occurs.

The film is very engaging after the interval, with the exception of Isha’s flashback. The tension is increased by Pramoda Reddy (Sobhita Dhulipala), and it is well integrated with the main story. Amazing last 20-25 minutes. Although the film ends on an emotional note, Prakash Raj’s end speech could have been more powerful.
Major Ending Explained: Does Sandeep Unnikrishnan Rescue The Hostages?
The Love Story of Neha and Sandeep Unnikrishnan in the Early Years

“Major” opens with Sandeep Unnikrishnan’s father giving him a stern lecture for entering the PoK zone. Sandeep calmly replied that it was ours and not India’s. Next, we see Sandeep’s childhood. We learn that Sandeep is an inquisitive, curious child who loves uniforms. He is fascinated by the Navy from a young age and wants to join them. His father would prefer him to be a doctor.
While he keeps his ambitions secret, he quietly works towards them. Sandeep, a young boy, is often afraid of the world around him. He seeks out his sister’s help when in doubt. He regards his father as his hero, and he watches too many Arnold Schwarzenegger films. He is a hardworking student and has many friends. He meets Neha, his classmate, one day and immediately falls in love.
Neha is a lonely teenager. Her parents have neglected her and made her less attentive to her social life and businesses. Sandeep, a man named Sandeep, makes Neha smile and tells her that he’s there to spend time with her because she doesn’t feel alone. She slowly begins to feel more comfortable with him as he walks the fine line between compassion and genuine care.

Neha discovers that Sandeep is interested in joining the Navy as they fall in love. This is what she discovers when Sandeep’s father scolds him for applying. He still has his rejection letter in his hands. Neha is aware that he will not be stopped by one rejection. She isn’t ready to sacrifice her time for him, just as she does with her parents. He learns from her that she is open to communication and realizes that the Navy isn’t the only way to become a soldier.
Sandeep makes the decision to join the Army. His father, although initially reluctant, gives his blessings. Sandeep writes a lot of letters to Neha at the NDA but never hears from her. He discovers that none of his letters have reached their destination. He also discovers that his letters were never received by her due to jealousy and spiteful actions of a classmate.
He learns that Neha will be leaving for Switzerland in just two days, and he rushes to meet her. He clarifies the misunderstandings and informs her that he will not have much time but whatever he does have, it will be hers. Before they can decide to get married, they confess their love and affection for one another. They get married and move on with their lives, as we all know.
Sandeep Unnikrishnan in The 26/11 Attacks

Sandeep is a training officer and they are not allowed to go on missions. He sees the urgency and asks to continue with the mission. He and his team found very little to work from once they arrived at the hotel.
The terrorists may have a detailed plan of the area, but he only has a map that he created himself. This is because the architect of the hotel was on vacation and they didn’t have any other information. Because they don’t have any information about the terrorists, standard protocols won’t work.
Sandeep encourages everyone to be brave and witty. It is difficult to convey the horrors of that day, despite how sensitively they were captured on camera. It suffices to say that Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan saves as many people as possible, while still keeping his head up.
We were truly shocked by the scene between his parents. Sandeep’s father believes that his son hasn’t gone on the mission. He is unable to remove the doubt from his heart because nobody is telling him exactly where he is. He is only getting a reply that he has gone outside. His father knows.
However, his mother is not as attentive. Sandeep’s mother refuses to answer her call, as she wants to show him that he isn’t the only one who can ignore him.
‘Major’ Ending: Does Sandeep Unnikrishnan Rescue The Hostages?
We all remember the events that transpired on that fateful night. We all know that Major said the last words to the terrorists: “Don’t come down, I will handle it.” He single-handedly seized four terrorists and even gave his life. This feat of selflessness and courage is unmatched in any story. Yes, the major was able to save the hostages and he was happy to risk his life to do so.
Because that’s what it means to be a soldier. Your duty to your country and countrymen is your first and most important relationship. Then comes your family and you. We will always be proud of him because he died doing the things he loved most—serving our country.
Final Thoughts- What Works And What Doesn’t For The Film?
After the story, the best part of the movie was its casting. It’s amazing to see how Adivi Sesh looks the part. Prakash Raj is always a joy to watch on screen and Revathi is an absolute breath of fresh air. Saiee Manjrekar is a dreamy actress for the role she was given.
The film was made with a cast that gave their all to the film. The music is excellent and the action scenes are well choreographed. The film’s action scenes are so intense that you feel the adrenaline rush. We were moved by the nuanced portrayal of soldiers’ families and the sacrifices they made to protect their loved ones.
We aren’t sure what we think is the best thing about the movie. We enjoyed the movie immensely, but we were left wondering if there weren’t some good parts. The disclaimer states that the events of the day were given some creative freedom.
Perhaps if they had been more focused in this regard, it would have resulted in a sharper storyline and a stronger impact. It was beautiful, and we were happy to spend the day with it. Prakash Raj should be in every movie, Adivi Sesh is too charming for his own good. We hope to see them again in the future.
