The Snow Girl Season 2 Release Date: Everything You Need To Know

The Snow Girl Season 2. Netflix’s newest crime thriller, The Snow Girl (La chica de nieve), begins with the mystery surrounding Amaya. But, mysteries soon unravel when Miren, a journalist, investigates her disappearance.

The Snow Girl is six episodes long. We imagine that there would be a second season if the Javier Castillo books it is based on go deeper.

We love the suspenseful series. But after the shocking ending, we want to know if there will be another season of The Snow Girl. This is all we know.

The Snow Girl Season 1 Review

The Snow Girl Season 1 Review

The story of The Snow Girl revolves around Amaya Martin, five years old, who disappeared from the annual Magi Parade (or “Three Wise Men”) in Malaga. She is separated from her family for a brief moment during the hustle and bustle of the event, but it’s long enough for an unknown perpetrator to snatch her. Amaya’s disappearance is followed by months of investigation and finally years by the police and the media, including Miren, a stubborn journalist (a stoic Milena Smit).

The Snow Girl makes a few smart choices. It takes place over multiple time periods. Amaya disappeared six years ago, nine years later and it still presents events in a random order. It’s easy to see when we are moving forward or backward through time. This makes it very clear and can be used to great dramatic effect. It’s satisfying to piece together how something was seen in 2019, and so forth.

Another good decision is to include both the police force’s and the press’ perspectives at all stages of the case. Miren, a journalist, has her reasons for distrusting law enforcement. But there is a clear focus on the way that rash journalistic actions can make cases more difficult for the police to solve. Also, how police action basically requires that the public and press solve cases themselves. This is a fascinating push-and-pull situation where we know everyone has the right intentions but have vastly different approaches and are ensnared in red tape or restricted by a lack of resources. The balance works.

But let’s get back to Miren. Miren is undoubtedly the main character of the series. She has a tortured backstory which is slowly revealed throughout the six episodes. Although it is not relevant to the main story, it does appear in a subplot that feels somewhat contrived and perverse. There are moments in The Snow Girl that I believe are as horrifying and unsettling as possible, without actually serving any real purpose. It’s terrible enough that a child is kidnapped, but The Snow Girl keeps twisting the knife. Sometimes it can feel like too much.

Ana gets her card from Miren, but she can’t find any details. It gets her in trouble. Belen and Chaparro question the resident of the building where Amaya was found wearing a yellow raincoat. Is The Snow Girl renewed for season 2?

Is The Snow Girl renewed for season 2?

We haven’t yet heard from Netflix about season 2 of The Snow Girl.

However, we shouldn’t give up on our favorite crime thriller. Netflix will often wait for viewers to respond before announcing a new season.

Snow Girl Season 2 Release Date

Snow Girl Season 2 Release Date

The Snow Girl aired its first episode on Friday, January 27, 2023. If the show returns for a second season then new episodes could be available as early as 2024. Despite this, the future of the show is uncertain.

Because Netflix typically takes a month to determine renewals based upon viewership figures, we won’t likely know much more about the premiere until a few months later.

What would season 2 of The Snow Girl look like?

Okay, spoilers. The Snow Girl has a huge cliffhanger ending.

Miren wrote a book about her investigation two years after she solved Amaya’s case and returned her to her family. Eduardo is happy as she gives a reading at the book signing.

Miren receives an envelope containing the words “want play?” written on it as they leave the book signing. We’re suspicious already.

The envelope contains a Polaroid photo of a young woman bound and gagged. It was taken in 2012, and the woman’s name is ‘Laura Valdivia.’

This episode ends. If season two is confirmed, we’d likely see Miren try to solve the case about Laura.

The Snow Girl season 2: Cast

Season 2 of The Snow Girl has not been confirmed yet, but we expect Milena Smit to reprise her role as journalist Miren if it returns.

We would also love to see Jose Coronado as Eduardo again. Aixa Villagran could be reincarnated as Belen Millan’s inspector.

Fans can be sure that The Snow Girl will return for a second season. This means that fans can assume Milena Smit will play the role of Miren Rojo, an intrepid journalist. Jose Coronado is likely to return as Eduardo, but casting predictions can be a little tricky.

David Luque was one of the characters who died in the first season. However, flashbacks and time jumps are a great way to explain the big questions.

Tristan Ulloa could return to David Luque if that is the case. However, other people involved in Amaya’s case may not. Loreto Mauleon’s role as Ana Nunez (Amaya’s mom) was likely a one-and-done deal.

The Snow Girl Season 2: The Plot

The Snow Girl’s First Season Ends with a Renewal. Amaya’s case is over, but Miren still has to sign the book.

The message says “Want to play?” On the outside, a message reads “Want to play?”. Inside, a polaroid shows another girl being held captive. It’s almost identical to Amaya. Miren received this picture from Miren, but Iris has passed away. Is she playing with them? Perhaps most important, who is this girl in the photo?

The Snow Girl does not offer any easy answers at the end, but Javier Castillo has written a sequel book called The Souls Game ( El juego del Alma), which may provide some clues. Miren travels to New York to investigate the crucifixion and connection between the latest polaroid and Miren’s investigation.

The second season of The Snow Girl will likely focus on Miren’s past, including the sexual assaults she suffered. We still don’t know the identity of the perpetrators at the end season one. This is something that we cannot imagine Miren overlooking in a possible second season.
