Lotz spoke at Motor City Comic Con with Katie Cassidy about her relationship with Arrowverse, including the history of the series after Legends of Tomorrow was abruptly cancelled. She also discussed plot points that were to be explored in the eighth season. As one would expect, Legends Season 8 would have continued right where Season 7 left off, with the heroes being taken into custody alongside Donald Faison’s Booster Gold.
Lotz stated, “Um…we were gonna jail.” “So, basically, we’d be learning how to… [be] responsible… Time Masters so to speak, or you can call them time travelers, so it would be a retraining.” Lotz stated that this planned retraining would see the Legends given the responsibility to oversee the training of different time travel cadets. So they wanted us to be in jail with a bunch young cadets, and then they’d give us the old-school ones like “We know how do all this!”
In Legends style, however, things could have gone wrong with the team failing to accept their new roles of mentors. Lotz stated, “But we’re not doing it all right,” before going on to confirm that Sara was pregnant and that Booster Gold had been introduced in order to secure another season of the series.
She said, “And then there’s the whole Booster gold storyline which I thought would be so much fun… but that is kind of all that I know about that.” “And then, of course, yes, Sara and Ava’s child.”
The cast and crew received overwhelming support from fans after the show was cancelled late last month. When The CW recently announced its fall 2022 lineup, fans began using the hashtag “#SaveLegendsofTomorrow,” campaigning for the series to get one final, eighth season to wrap up its storylines. Legends was cancelled by Batwoman, an Arrowverse series, and was later joined by several other shows, including Naomi, a DC property that had just completed its first season.
