What happens Josh and Mel?

This episode of Schmigadoon ends with Josh and Mel building their tent together in the woods. They finally sleep under the stars after their failed attempt to build a tent together.

Josh discovers Carson high up in a tree. He won’t budge, and has made the decision to give up everything that belonged to Emma. Josh talks him down and he begins to see the need for change. He watches as Emma and Carson reconcile their differences, hugging each other. Emma accepts to walk up the bridge with Josh in the morning.

Lopez raced up to Mel but ends up sleeping on the side of the road. Although he promises to be there, Lope’s Mum is also on the ride. Mel questions Lopez’s decision to be with Mel, and isn’t sure this is the right way forward.

Josh, who is also on the bridge, questions the exact same thing. He decides not to be with Emma and races off to find Mel.

Will Mildred be elected the mayor of the town?

The election begins in town with people voting for Mildred to become Mayor. Mel and Josh join the fray and make peace in front of everyone. Josh sings to Mel about his feelings, as predicted at the beginning of the season. As Mel’s dress is tinted purple, the pair dance together under the spotlight.

The confession gives people the opportunity to open up and be more transparent about their feelings. There are many confessions, including Carson calling Mildred a savage. Nancy finally comes out and admits that Mildred is her Mother!

Mayor Menlove keeps his role, while the whole town sings to complete this season. It’s all about changing, and in particular, changing your life. This song and dance will lead us to the exit.

Will Josh and Mel make it home?

Josh and Mel reunite and walk back to New York ….. Or do they? It’s not clear if the couple have made it back. The episode ends with a semi-cliffhanger. It works well. The ambiguous ending is enough to whet your appetite, and gives you a glimpse at a possible second season.

What happens if they fail to make it to the other side of the fence? What happens if they are stuck in Schmigadoon instead? Or do you believe they have made it back? Although it would seem they did, this ending leaves that possibility open to interpretation.

Schmigadoon! Season 2 Release Date

As of June 13, 2022, the official release date for the next season has not been revealed. Fans speculate that the new season will be released sometime between early and mid-2023, based on the release date for the previous season.

This is speculation. The official dates will be confirmed soon by Apple TV+ as the series gets closer to its debut. Other details will also be released by the streaming service.

Schmigadoon! Season 2 Plot

Although the plotline is not yet known, Schmigadoon will likely pick up the series right away! Season 1 was ended with Episode 6, “How We Change”, which was released on August 13, 2021. Barry Sonnenfeld directed the episode and Cinco Paul & Ken Daurio wrote the script. According to the official synopsis, “With the election approaching, Mildred tirelessly ramps up her campaign; Josh & Melissa confront their true feelings for one another.”

Here are some key points from Season 1’s finale episode. We highlighted the fact that Josh tracked down Carson and they talked about the importance of having a successful relationship. Emma arrives and suggests to Carson that they cross the bridge and start a new life together. Lopez retrieves Melissa and declares that he prefers Melissa to the Countess but she wants to save her relationship to Josh.

Josh on the other side recognizes that he wants exactly the same thing. Mildred will win the town election. Melissa and Josh arrive in the room to disrupt the vote. He expresses his regret over their split and she expresses her love through song. They dance and kiss together. Mildred criticizes the New Yorkers while Emma says that they have helped the village accept themselves as they are.

Emma tells Carson that she is her mother. Other residents reveal long-held secrets like Nancy’s mother Mildred and Rev. Layton’s feelings about Mayor Menlove. Mildred throws a temper tantrum and Mayor Menlove is re-elected by a huge margin.

Mildred is reminded by Melissa that it’s never too late for change. The community celebrates its successes with newer musical styles. Josh and Melissa cross the bridge hand-in-hand, but it’s not clear if they will be able leave Schmigadoon.

Schmigadoon! Season 2 will be picked up at this point and continue the story with characters and plotlines. It will begin from the end of the final episode. This is to close any loopholes or cliffhangers. The tone has been set for the season by the previous episodes. It will continue to develop and expand in ways that will keep viewers interested in the show.

Will Schmigadoon! Season 2 be a parody of ’60s and ’70s musicals ?

I have always loved classic musicals and Schmigadoon was one of my main draws. For me, it was the idea of a couple from today being transported back to the past and thrust into the strange world of old musicals. Season 2 will not be in the same ’40s or ’50s style.

We’re not going back to the ’60s or ’70s this time, baby!

According to Variety’s announcement, the second season will parody the worlds of musicals from the ’60s and 70s in the world “Schmicago.”

There are many possibilities. It’s possible to parody many musicals from these two decades, including Mary Poppins and Chicago. I can’t wait for the next episode, but Cecily Strong says that feathers will be a part of it.

In an interview Strong and Lorne Michaels, one producer of the show, did with Variety, they confirmed the season’s time frame and said that she loves her wardrobe.

Yes, we are going to the ’60s and 70s musicals. Although I cannot reveal too much, I will say that I love my new wardrobe. Oh, yeah. If that’s not enough to tell you something, I have worn feathers twice.

Will Cecily Strong and Keegan Michael Key Return in Season 2 ?

You can see that Cecily Strong is back for Schmigadoon, as you can probably tell from my mention of her in the previous section. Season 2.

Their characters Melissa and Josh were trapped in the worlds of Schmigadoon! The only way to get back to the real world was to find true love.

Although it seemed like everything was going well for them at the conclusion of Season 1, we can only imagine what happens next and how that will affect their relationship.

They are both excited to be back at work filming the next chapter of their story. Key posted a photo of his trailer on his Instagram account, saying that he was “so thrilled” to be back at work for Schmigadoon. Season 2.

In her interview with Variety, Cecily also spoke about her partnership with Key. She said that she had always wanted to work with Key for the role opposite of her and that he was the right choice.

He was someone I thought I knew. But, I had him in my mind. Do you ever see someone and assume they’re your best friend? It was one of those occasions when that happened. It was like I had known the same person my entire life. Both of us have a Midwest and sketch background, and we are both big musical theater nerds. We’re both big crybabies, and we joked about who would cry first. He said that he had only experienced this feeling while shooting with Jordan. It was such a great experience working with him that I almost worried about us getting in trouble on the set. We just wanted to have fun.

I am so excited to see these two reunite for Season 2 – I also look forward to seeing what they have in Schmicago.
