Aki Chainsaw Man: Everything You Need To Know

In Chainsaw Man, Aki Hayakawa was working for Public Safety Devil Hunters. He had contracts with the Curse Devil and Future Devil. He also had a contract with the all-powerful Fox Devil. The job he was currently working on, hunting devils, was under the exclusive supervision of Makima. He settled his debts during (Chapter 3) in which he was able to meet Denji for the first time. It turned out they were not a good match. Because Aki thought Denji was pursuing hidden motives. Tragically, Aki was killed and was possessed by the Gun Devil. In the following years, he was transformed into the Gun Fiend.

Appearance Of Aki Chainsaw Man

Human Form

Aki Hayakawa is a beautiful young man sporting short black curls and green eyes. He typically wears his hair in a topknot style. He usually wears a Public Safety Devil Hunter suit and tie. Also, he wears earrings and typically carries a sword with him on his back.

Fiend Form

When the Gun Devil took over his body, he became the Gun Fiend; his hair falls down, and his eyes and forehead are swathed with dark veins. The slide and barrel of an M1911 can be seen hanging out of the side of his face, tucked between his eyes. The gun’s hammer sticks out of the side of his head. Aki’s left forearm has been replaced by an M16A1.

Personality Aki Chainsaw Man

Aki is generally an extremely calm and stoic character. He appears mature and reliable when he’s around his fellow Devil Hunters. However, he’s actually extremely sensitive when he’s by himself. He tends to become attached to other people easily and does not like to see people injured, especially close friends. Contrary to the majority of his fellow associates, he can be identified by Himeno as an “normal person” in that he grieves over loss and has not been able to get over his emotions. However, he’s extremely determined, and his main motive behind taking down the Gun Devil is revenge for his family. He is completely willing to risk his life in order to save people, despite his own fears of death and even risking his ultimate objective.

The cold detachment he displays is just a façade, and he’s been shown to be in tears over the loss of friends like Himeno and Power, and he began to cherish Denji in addition to Power enough to abandon his revenge plan in order to ensure their safety.

Plot Aki Chainsaw Man

History

When Aki was a child, his home was destroyed by the Gun Devil, which killed his brother as well as both of his parents. Aki, however, was fortunate to be located a good distance from the house and was able to escape. After witnessing his family members murdered right in front of him, he developed a profound dislike of the Gun Devil and devils in general. He then made the decision that he would join Public Safety Devil Hunters in seeking justice against The Gun Devil.

Intro arc

Aki Hayakawa takes Makima back to headquarters after her senior meeting. This is when Makima tells Aki she’s attracted to Denji since he has the ability to change into the Chainsaw Man.

When Denji and Power are caught up in a fight and trying to defeat the Leech Devil, Aki appears with his Fox Devil. We get to witness his incredible power. While Denji is getting ready to be devoured by the Leech Devil, the Fox Devil devours the Leech Devil.

Denji becomes curious about his powers and inquires about them. Aki says that he could summon the Devil due to the agreement between both of them. The agreement was signed by Aki, granting his Fox Devil to consume a tiny portion of his body. Aki is then vocal about his disgust for devils and says that they cannot be trusted.

Aki Hayakawa, despite being so silent, knew that Power was controlling Denji. However, Denji simps over Power and claims that nothing ever took place. He threatens them both with execution if they fail to reveal the truth. Makima is then able to inform Aki as well as Denji of the fact that Power will live with them in Aki’s home. They both scream in discomfort because Power never flushes her toilet.

Eternity The Devil

Aki and Himeno, working in the same team and hiding some secrets, remove a portion of the Gun Devil’s body from the corpse of the Fish Devil.

Following their Devil removal request by the Bureau, Aki, Denji, and Power visit Hotel Morin with Himeno’s group. The entire group explores the area one floor at a time. They suddenly see a devil in the form of a head walking. This is quite creepy, don’t you think? But, Himeno and Power’s teamwork was unmatched, and they were able to handle it swiftly.

They continued their investigation until the eighth floor. Hirokazu states the fact that they should have been on the ninth floor. Aki realizes that they’ve been held on the 8th floor. The Devil is able to trap them. Aki is still searching for the devil, but the devil never ceases to increase in size. He then demands Denji’s life. The devil demanded Denji to sign an agreement with him.

As the situation gets more extreme, Kobeni and Hirokazu’s fears make the devil more powerful. The devil generally becomes more powerful when people fear them. This is why it chases everyone else while changing the shape of the room that they’re in. At times, it changed its shape into an underground tunnel. When Hirokazu and Kobeni are preparing to take on the devil, Aki apologizes in front of Denji and prepares to fight.

While Denji suffers an injury as he is injured and falls into the air, risking his life. He informs Aki that they’ll quit no matter if they can survive this game.

After a few days, the Eternity Devil gives up and opens his soul to Denji to stop his suffering forever. After beating Denji, the Gun Devil, they all leave the hotel. Himeno and Aki recuperate the portion of the Devil that they removed. Then Himeno suggests organizing an event to celebrate the success of the operation for the 4th Division. Aki suggests that the party be held prior to next week’s deadline because he’s not traveling on a trip to Kyoto in the absence of her. At the event, Makima’s fascination about Denji increases, and she starts asking Aki many questions about Denji.

Gun Devil arc

SPOILER ALERT! Aki is executed by the Gun Devil while the devil moves towards Makima. In the end, the Gun Devil, after swallowing and signing a deal with Aki, changes into the Gun Fiend. Aki, as a new persona, prepares to take on Denji when he returns to his house. With this thought in mind, Aki starts hallucinating about Denji playing with him, using his left arm, which transforms into an assault weapon. He also imagines breaking down his house by breaking Denji to pieces.

A friendly war breaks out between the two. It can cause disaster! A lot of buildings fall down and are destroyed because of their fight. Denji tries to test whether Aki does not attack him anymore or not. He does succeed. Denji is able to use his only chance to attack Aki. He looks around and sees his brother in gloves, playing a game of catch after death. The will left by Aki will reveal that he has given part of his wealth to Denji and the other half to Himeno’s Family.

Relationships Aki Chainsaw Man

Denji

Aki and Denji initially dislike one another. Their first meeting ended in a verbal and physical argument that saw Aki kick and insult Denji and then wait to cause Denji to place him on the area of his crotch, and kick him as the latter is lying down. He believes Denji is a fool and a savage, vulgar and irresponsible to stay in the dangerous field of work. Despite their differences, they collaborate because of Makima’s requests. At Makima’s request, Aki allows Denji to move into his home and cares for the man. After fighting with each other and being part of the same home, Aki begins to consider Denji as a friend even though he still has a tendency to find him annoying sometimes. Even going so far as to request that the Fourth Division be exempt from fighting the Gun Devil in an attempt to ensure that Denji and Power are in a safe place. They were both deeply attached to each other and, as Aki had to fight Denji in the role of Gun Devil, he imagined it was a snowball fight between his friends.

Power

Aki and Power are also in a less than pleasant relationship in the beginning, though maybe not as much as Denji. Aki dislikes Power’s rude and unremorseful manner of speaking and thinks she is annoying. Power also accepts Power whenever Makima asks for it, and eventually they get to know one another. Although he appears to be dismayed and unhappy at Power’s constant mishaps, he considers her an ally as well. The need to protect Power could be another motive he desired to get the Fourth Division to withdraw from combating The Gun Devil.

Himeno

Aki has been acquainted with Himeno since he joined Public Safety, and she was his first employee. She was the person responsible for encouraging him to start smoking cigarettes, and she tried to convince him to leave his job to protect him. She was a lover of Aki, but it appears that Aki did not reciprocate her affections. He was a close friend, and he weeps when he hears of her passing.

Makima

Aki is in love with Makima and appears to be a huge fan of her; however, this could be the work of Makima. This is the reason Aki is unable to recall the reasons for liking Makima. Makima has a complete disregard for his feelings, and wasn’t interested in him beyond his function as an instrument.

Angel Devil

When they were paired up and forming a team, they started off in a rough spot, both not being able to work with one another. However, they started to get to know each other to the point that they were concerned about the well-being of each other, as was evident by the fact that Aki was willing to take her hand in the Angel Devil’s hand for him to be saved, even knowing that by the process, her life could be cut short. In addition, there was a possibility that they were also able to communicate with each other. Angel Devil was known to provide Aki with unknown information such as the cycle of life of devils. After an encounter with the Devil of Darkness, Aki worried for the life of the Angel Devil and suggested he sign agreements with devil hunters in order to prevent the possibility of extermination. In addition, the Angel Devil also asked Aki what he saw in Makima because it’s been proven that she is a favorite, but Aki isn’t sure what to answer. Similar to Himeno, he also advised Aki to leave the division and find a new job before he’s killed.

Devil Contract

Curse Devil Contract: Aki has an agreement with the Curse Devil which grants him the nail-like sword. If he uses it, his life will be greatly reduced.

Stab: Aki is able to point the nail anyplace on the body of his victim, after which he pronounces “fire,” and when he says “fire,” the hand of the curse appears and flicks the rear end of the nail in order to cause harm.
- Curse Through striking the enemy three times with a nail, Aki is able to call his Curse Devil to seize the opponent and cause massive damage to them, causing death while doing it.

Future Devil Contract: After losing his favor with his fellow Fox Devil, Aki was sent by The Future Devil, which is held as a prisoner in the hands of Public Safety, and he obtained an agreement to utilize its powers in exchange for accepting that The Future Devil live inside his right eye.

Precognition: Aki has the ability to see just a couple of seconds in the future. This ability allows him to anticipate his adversaries’ upcoming attacks and plan his strategy accordingly.

Fox Devil Contract: Aki Hayakawa had an agreement with the Fox Devil. In exchange for giving him an element of his body, Aki could make use of his strength in battle. Aki was unable to summon him when using to summon the Fox Devil recklessly against the Katana Man.

The Summoner: Aki can hold his hand in the air and speak “Kon,” which triggers the head of the Fox Devil to be revealed, and then instantly bite on the body of the target, either swallowing them whole or cutting them up to pieces, where they’d cross with the bite of the Fox Devil.

Accelerated Speed: Aki has a blazing speed capable of traveling to the place where Power is and attacking her after destroying Denji out of the front of his house extremely quickly. Aki is moving so fast, the blur of his movements appears to be a blur.

Supernatural Abilities

Bullet Projection: As the Gun Fiend, Aki can fire bullets from his gun through his left head and forearm with incredible accuracy and speed. He was able to tear walls and Denji in pieces with ease and also destroy several structures at the same time.
