🐲 Dragon Ball: Yo! Son Goku and His Friends Return!! (ドラゴンボール オッス！帰ってきた孫悟空と仲間たち！！, Ossu! Kaette Kitta Son Goku To Nakama-Tachi! ) Is an OVA created to mark the forty-eighth anniversary of Weekly Jump. This was first shown at Jump Super Anime Tour 2008. It also featured special characters from anime such as Tarble (Vegeta’s younger brother), Avo, Cado and their Fusion Aka.
Later, the manga version was created by Naho Ooishi before being released in DVD format.

Plot

Two years have passed since Kid Buu was defeated. Mr. Satan, now a hero after defeating Buu and Cell years earlier, recalls those events. Videl recalls that Satan defeating 💪 Buu is true. Videl appears ashamed of her father Satan. In honor of Satan, a huge hotel was built. He decides to throw an event at which Goku and other people who have fought against him are invited. Goten and Gohan bring the whole family to the party.

Meanwhile, Goku, Chi-Chi, Gohan, Goten and Videl lead a normal lifestyle. Videl comes to Gohan’s aid and asks him to bring his family to the Satan-organized party. Goku initially refused to go but he finally agreed to go after being told that he would be able to enjoy exceptional food at the party.
The Kame Sen’nin, Android 18, Krillin etc. arrive at Goku’s hotel to meet him and his company. Piccolo also arrives by himself. Soon, Piccolo is accompanied by a group of Capsule Corporation employees. Vegeta and Goku immediately meet up to start a fight. But, Goku decides to end the fight as the party was just beginning and head to the Hall. Additionally, Son Goku, Vegeta, his family, Kame-Sen’nin, Android Number 18, Krillin, Mr. Popo, Karin, Dende, Yajirobe, Chaoz, Oolong, Ox-King, the North Kaio, Bubbles, Gregory, Kibito-shin, and the Elder Kaioshin.

Some reporters also visit the mansion to ask Satan what the hotel will be called. While everyone is eating, two ships land on Earth 🌎. Piccolo and Gohan are the first to notice. A-18 notices, and then everyone is in a tense mood since they sense what just happened on Earth. He meets Tarble, his brother.

One of the two ships that arrived at Earth contains a Saiyan and an extraterrestrial about 60cm high. His scouter, the Saiyan, senses the strength and power of everyone in Satan’s Hotel and arrives there. Vegeta is his brother when he meets him. This shocks everyone. This curious Saiyan is named Tarble, and Gure, the alien who accompanies him, is his wife. Vegeta claims that Tarble was exiled to another planet from Planet Vegeta because he was not gifted in combat. Tarble wants Vegeta’s assistance in confronting Avo and Cado who have arrived on Tarble’s planet. It was destroyed.

Son Goku questions if Avo and Cado are strong, because he would like to fight them. Son Gohan wants to help, Goten, Trunks and Chaoz think it’s fascinating, Krillin and Chaoz also want to take part and, in the end, Kame-Sen’nin is encouraged and encouraged to fight. His scouter demonstrates the potential of Tarble’s measures. The Z Warriors say they can’t help them because they don’t have enough strength. Vegeta advises Tarble not to use his scouter anymore and Goku gathers some Ki to display his strength. Goku uses Teleportation with Goten and Trunks, Piccolo, Chaoz, Krillin, Kame Sen’nin, Videl, Chi Chi, Bulma, Tarble, and Gure to Mount Paozu. Meanwhile, Mr. Satan, Fat Buu, Kibito-shin, and the Elder Kaioshin continue to ignore everyone, drinking.

At Mount Paozu, Son Goku suggests that everyone takes a radish out of their harvest, and the candidate is the one with the largest. Goten takes out a huge one, and it appears that it will be him. This is how it works. Vegeta, Trunks is a little jealous and tells him to get out a bigger one. Trunks pulls out a radish that is 10 times longer than Goten’s, and then becomes the candidate. Avo and Cado arrive on Earth.

During all of this, Avo and Cado have landed on Earth 🌎 with their ships. They follow Tarble to Mr. Satan’s Hotel where panic ensues. Things calm down slightly when Goku and the other left-behind soldiers arrive. It is revealed that Avo (and Cado) were former soldiers of Frieza’s Ancient Empire. They have taken control over all planets Frieza ruled. Vegeta knew them already and said that they were rivals of Special Forces Ginyu. Tarble mentions Avo and Cado’s strength, so strong that they wouldn’t lose to Frieza.

Goku loses the illusion he had in the fight 💪 when he hears that they are only on Frieza’s level and says it’s okay for Trunks to face them. After some difficulties, he finally gets Vegeta’s permission to allow Goten to fight. Avo and Cado were both underestimating the situation at the beginning of the fight. Trunks & Goten are smashed against rocks by Goten. Avo and Cado then decide to break each one into three pieces and begin playing with Goten and Trunks. Goten is dominated by Avo and Cado. Trunks.

That’s it. Avo and Cado, Trunks and Goten have been transformed into six people. Vegeta suggests that they feel their ki in order to determine which Avo and Cado are real. However, this is a difficult task. Gohan offers to help them only discover which Avo and Cado and Gohan are real. Trunks then slams the real ones against the wall.🐲

Avo and Cado merge to be stronger, becoming Aka. To counter this, Trunks & Goten’s Fusion is their secret weapon. They fail their first attempt and they become fat Gotenks.

They are able to succeed again the second time around. Gotenks crushes Aka with Yamcha’s Wolf Fang Punch and Tien Shinhan’s Volleyball Attack and some Satan technique. They transform into Supersaiyan when they smash Aka into a lake. Although it looks like they are finished, Aka continues to fight. She has become Supersaiyan by going into a rage and throwing energy from her mouth and hands. Gotenks hits the Satan Hotel. Now Aka begins to use his attack Wahaha no Ha, hitting all areas of Mr. Satan’s hotel one by one.

To protect his friends, Piccolo deflects each wave with a Makankosappo. Krillin uses the Destroyer Disk in order to save A-18 from being crushed by the debris. A-18 gives him a smile of happiness. Bulma’s life is saved by Yamcha, who makes use of the Sokidan a lot. Yajirobe also saves lives by making sure that everyone gets what they need. Meanwhile, Kame-Sen’nin protects a beautiful lady from the crowd.

Vegeta and Goku decide to finish Aka. They discuss which of these two will be facing him. Goku cheats by pointing to a specific spot and saying “What is that?”, fooling Vegeta. Goku performs a KameHameHa on Aka.

When Vegeta is distracted, Goku attacks Aka. Vegeta claims that Goku used a dirty trick. Aka throws a “Super Wahaha No Ha”. Goku responds with a KameHameHa, and then punches him hard.🌎

Aka is defeated. The battle. Videl informs Satan that the hotel’s destruction was an act of God. She’ll rebuild it. Goku tells him to fix it, and the party goes on despite the destruction of the hotel. Vegeta becomes angry at Goku for taking his sushi. He then orders Goku to char siu. Both are now angry and transform into Supersaiyan and end with a brawl. The rest of the crowd was equally shocked by the incident. It is important to note that this is an immature, funny moment for the Saiyans. It is revealed that everyone is enjoying Satan’s banquet. The OVA ends after a humorous scene between Goku and Vegeta.

Trivia

• This special was released on DVD. It was made available for special orders only in April 2009. It also includes the ending “Orange Hero” without credits.
• Vegeta returns to use his full armor, which in 💪 Majin Buu’s Arc he didn’t use because in the world tournament, advantages are not allowed to be used as protection.
• Goku wears his uniform with the Kame-Sen’nin insignia. He had not used it since the start of the series.
• At one point in the OVA, to defeat the new enemies, Trunks must perform the fusion. But, they fail to do the fusion as they hadn’t done it in a long time. Fusion is wrong. Bulma asks them to do it correctly, and one can see that the children are separated as though they have never done the fusion, or, rather, as if the rule of separation had been forgotten. 30 minutes to be able to fuse once again.

• Gohan’s computer room has icons that show the character he is using. Akira Toriyama, Tori-Bot, was also known as the character Neko Majin, also from Toriyama’s work.
• The mother, wearing sunglasses, is seen with her children in a stroller. She is a regular supporting character in the Dragon Ball series.
• ZTV, the orange-haired reporter who comes to interview Mr. Satan also appears in 🐲 Dragon Ball: The Plan To Eradicate The Super Saiyans.
• While Aka performs his Wahaha No Ha Fire technique, Vegeta and Goku are shaded red for a short time. This is similar to the Supersaiyan God in Dragon Ball Z: Battle of the Gods, released five years later.
• The same happens when Goku uses his Kamehameha in order to stop the Wahaha No Ha of Fire. Supersaiyan Blue, although the transformation was not complete, it is possible.
• Goku, Goten and others wear similar clothing. Dragon Ball Super. They even plant radishes. Frieza’s army is being recalled.
• Trunks speaks of something Dende says, but it doesn’t end.
