The Saiyan Saga (サイヤ人編 Saiya-jin Hen) is the first 🐲 Dragon Ball Z saga released in 1988. Five years after the defeat of Piccolo by Son Goku at the 23rd Tenkaichi Tournament, the saga consists of thirty-five episodes. Like all sagas, it begins with the arrival of an antagonist, Raditz, Son Goku’s older sibling. He will be the most difficult enemy to defeat, unlike all others. Later, Nappa and Vegeta will also be available.

Plot

Raditz arrives

Five years have passed since The 23rd Tenkaichi Tournament. Son Goku, a married man to Chichi, has a four-year-old son called Son Gohan. Son Goku finds the little boy lost in a forest and rescues him. He then goes to the Kame House to introduce his son. Meanwhile, a mysterious warrior arrives on Earth 🌎 in search of a certain Kakarot. Piccolo engages in a duel but is unable to do anything to him. Son Goku finds out more about his past.

Son Goku is at Kame House along with Krillin, Bulma, and Master Muten. Raditz, the fighter that confronted Piccolo, arrives on the scene. Raditz tells Son Goku he is his brother, and that they both belong to the Saiyan race. Their Planet Vegeta was hit by a meteor, and only four Saiyans remain, including Son Goku. We find out that Son Goku, as a little boy, was sent to Earth to destroy it. However, he was taken care of by Grandpa Son Gohan. Son Goku lost all his evilness when he hit his head. Raditz kidnaps little Son Gohan, telling Son Goku he must join the Saiyan fighters, or Son Gohan will be eliminated. Piccolo and Son Goku will be against Raditz.

Son Goku is in desperate need of help and must bring Raditz at least a hundred more deaths to avoid his son’s death. Son Goku contemplates what to do, and when he chooses to fight his brother, he realizes that he could pull his tail to weaken his brother. Piccolo arrives at the Kame House and agrees to support Son Goku in order to stand a chance against the evil Saiyan. Raditz keeps Son Gohan quiet by locking him in his spaceship. His Scouter is shocked to discover that Son Gohan has a power level of 710. He believes the detector is dead. That’s when Son Goku and Piccolo arrive, having located them through The Dragon Ball that Son Gohan was with.

Son Goku and Piccolo immediately start to fight and get into trouble. Piccolo is injured and begins to plan an attack on Raditz. Son Goku, however, throws a powerful Kamehameha at Raditz, but he resists. Piccolo’s Makankosappo is missed, but Son Goku catches Raditz from behind and grabs his tail. Raditz begs his brother to let him go, and Son Goku is tricked into believing Raditz will trample Son Goku with his feet, pushing his chest. Son Gohan can’t bear to watch his father suffer and angrily destroys The spaceship. Son Goku and Raditz die.

Son Gohan throws himself at Raditz and hits him, knocking him down. Raditz is shocked at the boy’s power, but is determined to kill Raditz. Son Goku blocks him from behind, and Piccolo can pierce them both with The Makankosappo. Piccolo informs Raditz, who is dying, that Son Goku will be able to come back to his life through The 🐲Dragon Balls. Raditz tells Raditz that his companions are in touch with him and have all the information. They will be there in a year. Earth will all end because they are stronger than him.

The training begins

While Raditz’s two Saiyans with similar aims, Bulma, Krillin, and Master Muten, arrive at the spot of the fight. Son Goku’s body vanishes, but friends discover that he is dead. He is actually taken to the Afterlife by the Earth God with his body. In the presence of King Enma, Son Goku is granted permission to reach King Kai in the North by following the Serpent’s Path, to gain strength and train. Piccolo, however, takes Son Gohan along to train him for the arrival of the Saiyans within a year. Son Gohan is afraid to leave his home, but he proves to be able to withstand the dangers. Piccolo endures. Son Gohan flees The dinosaur.

Son Gohan is left alone in Break Desert by Piccolo. He will be left alone in the Break Desert by Piccolo for six months, surrounded by hungry animals and other dangers. Piccolo will train him over the next six months. Son Goku is still walking The Serpent’s Path, being careful not to fall. Krillin, on one hand, heads for Son Goku’s home to warn Chichi that her husband died. Son Gohan, on one hand, manages to escape from a giant dinosaur and finds refuge on top of the mountain to go to sleep. Son Gohan transforms into Oozaru.

The next night, Son Gohan sees the full moon, and transforms into an enormous ape. He destroys the mountain on which he stands and threatens to do more damage by his eagerness. So, Piccolo detaches from the moon and destroys it. Son Gohan’s tail, giving him clothing and a knife.

Son Gohan continues running from vicious beasts the next day and eventually falls into a pit in the sand which drops him into the Ruins Of Nemuria. Here he meets an acquaintance: C-6, an old robot. Son Gohan turns the robot on and starts to make friends. But the robot has little energy. Son Gohan starts to dig for the robot, but it only teeters on the ceiling. The robot sacrifices the last of its energy 💪 to save Son Gohan and is destroyed by The rubble. Son Gohan confronts a tyrannosaur.

Son Gohan continues his adventures by helping a wounded brontosaurus. The tyrannosaurus kills the brontosaurus, but Son Gohan is able to do everything. So he decides that he will confront it. Krillin, in the meantime, goes to Yamcha. Playing, you can ask him to train together for the impending arrival of The Saiyans. Vegeta and Nappa are on Arlia.

Son Goku continues his run in The Serpent’s Path. Son Gohan has settled into the desert, and is now able to defeat the dinosaur that he once feared. The Saiyans Vegeta & Nappa, however, wake up aboard their spaceships, and land in space on Planet Arlia. Vegeta and Nappa are taken prisoner to see the king. They break the chains holding them captive and kill the guards. Then they escape from the dungeon. The King Moai, astonished, orders them to fight alongside his greatest warriors. Vegeta & Nappa can be defeated easily. They then destroyed the palace. The planet is worthless and they destroy it. Tien Shinhan trains under A waterfall.

While Son Goku rides on King Kai to reach Son Goku’s height, Tien Shinhan trains. Piccolo trains with only the power of his mind to raise pyramids. Tien Shinhan, Chiaotzu, Lunch and Krillin are visited by Bulma, asking for their assistance in saving the planet. In the afterlife, you will find your soulmate. Son Goku falls asleep on the vehicle taking him to King Kai on The Serpent’s Path.

Son Goku is found in the Underworld Kingdom. He is found by Gozu and Mezu who are guardian Orcs. They decide to help Son Goku escape Hell only if he defeats them both in a fight against Gozu and a speed competition against Mezu. The Saiyan wins and, as per agreement, the Orcs give him permission to eat a special fruit that gives him an even faster speed. They take him to a secret passage leading to King Enma’s office. Son Goku is able to do it over and over again, but it turns out it is very simple thanks to The increased speed. Son Goku and Snake Princess dance.

Son Goku runs as fast as possible, but he runs into the Palace of the Snake Princess. Here The Serpent Princess makes him sit down and offers him food. But Son Goku’s loyalty and love for his family is too strong to allow him to give in. So the angry princess becomes a horrible giant snake that breathes fire, and then tries to eat The Saiyan. Son Goku uses a clever strategy to make sure the snake that is flying twists on itself in knots. Get stuck, you will no longer be able to reach him.

On Earth, Piccolo splits up to train. Son Gohan builds a raft to return home. He meets a group of orphaned children who have fled the local authorities to find their own way. Once he reaches the destination, he is greeted by a group of orphaned children. Mount Paozu, Son Gohan is returned by Piccolo. The Temple of God has a special room.🐲

Piccolo then begins to train Son Gohan. Krillin, Tien Shinhan and Yamcha climb Karin’s Tower, until they reach the Temple of God in the presence of the Earth God. Yajirobe is also present. The Supreme is requested by the boys to teach them the same lessons he taught Son Goku years ago. God informs them that God did not teach Son Goku anything. They are all amazed and can explain why they exist. Mr. Popo explains that an unbeatable warrior can only know his enemy and himself instinctively. He leads them into a special room, where they are transported to another dimension. They discover two Saiyans: Scarface and Brock. Krillin and Chiaotzu are instantly eliminated. Tien Shinhan and Yamcha battle and are defeated. They return to the Present, where God tells them that the Saiyans encountered by them were nothing compared with those they will encounter. The boys decide to train harder than ever.

Son Gohan and Piccolo keep fighting. The kid attacks during the night. Piccolo decides to double over and engages in a prolonged fight. Piccolo observes that Son Gohan’s tail has been reattached by Piccolo. After seeing Son Gohan, Piccolo notices that he has transformed into Oozaru. A moon-like object, Son Goku’s spaceship, was used to reflect on Earth. Piccolo attempts to destroy the Moon, but fails. After realizing what happened, he destroys the spaceship and the tail. Son Gohan is now a mother again.

The afterlife will be a paradise. Son Goku has reached the Serpent’s Way and with a jump reaches the finish The Planet 🌎 of King Kai, the North. He meets Bubbles, a monkey who is named after him and becomes friends with King Kai. Son Goku struggles with standing because the gravity on the planet is more than that of Earth. King Kai arrives and accepts to train him if Son Goku makes him laugh by telling him funny jokes. Son Goku asks King Kai why they want to train, and King Kai answers that he does. 158 Days. King Kai, in his first training, asks Son Goku to capture Bubbles.

Having caught Bubbles, Son Goku is assigned to hit Gregory, a small grasshopper, using a hammer. King Kai, during a break, tells Son Goku all about the history of the Saiyans. He explains that Planet Vegeta was populated primarily by the Tuffles and the Saiyans. Although the Tuffles had a short stature and were not very powerful, they were intelligent and had created many technologies. The Saiyans were cavemen, who knew nothing but fighting. The Saiyans revolted and attacked one day. The Tuffles. They were transformed into Oozaru and acquired the technology of the other race. From that point onwards, the Saiyans advanced by sending their children to other planets. The Universe is yours to keep.

Vegeta and Nappa are now on Earth

Once Gregory has been hit, King Kai explains the Kaioken technique to Son Goku that he can use to obtain all forms of energy from the objects around him. Then, King Kai informs Son Goku that he has the option to use the Spirit Bomb in times of emergency. This is dangerous as it can destroy the entire planet if misused incorrectly. The days go by. Son Goku is warned, by King Kai and Master Muten, that the two Saiyans would arrive the next day. He asks Master Muten to summon the Dragon God to bring him back to health. The Saiyans Vegeta, Nappa, and Vegeta arrive on Earth. This creates chaos in the city. Piccolo, Krillin and Nappa vs Vegeta Son Gohan.

Vegeta & Nappa destroyed The City of the East. They move away from the area they came from and seek out Earthlings with the highest levels of combat. They actually go to The Paprika desert, where Piccolo, Son Gohan, and Krillin meet them. Vegeta instantly recognizes Piccolo as the one who murdered Raditz a year ago. Piccolo informs Vegeta that he isn’t an Earthling, but that Piccolo is from Namek. Namek is a planet with extraordinary powers and magical abilities. Piccolo is shocked to find this out and prepares for battle against new enemies. Nappa and Vegeta kill their Scouters. After that Nappa pulls out a small plastic bottle with seeds and he plants them on the ground. They are Saibamen. These are small creatures that sprout from the ground. Yamcha after the Saibamen are killed.

Tien Shinhan, Yamcha, and Chiaotzu are also present. Tien Shinhan, who is the first to challenge the Saibamen, defeats the opponent quickly. Vegeta, out of anger, disintegrates the Saibamen whom he had lost. Yamcha is his next opponent and knocks him with a Kamehameha, but he exults. The victory 💪. The Saibamen nearly makes him explode. Yamcha was killed.

The rest of the Saibamen, Krillin, and Piccolo eliminate them. Nappa now prepares for battle by increasing his power, and creating light around him. Tien Shinhan is attacked by Nappa who grabs Tien Shinhan’s arm and breaks it. Chiaotzu thinks about taking Nappa from behind. Nappa tries his best to escape, but Chiaotzu has begun to generate energy around him. Nappa is also trying to self-destruct. Chiaotzu, however, is the one who dies. Nappa remains unharmed. Piccolo and Krillin triple their bodies.

While Son Goku is about to reach Earth. Two of his friends, who were waiting for him, have been killed by the Saiyans. Tien Shinhan seeks revenge on Chiaotzu’s death and attacks Nappa. So the Saiyan wins. Piccolo and Krillin make Nappa fall by their friend’s combined attack on the air. Son Gohan has an opportunity to strike Nappa for the kill but is afraid to do so. Krillin and Piccolo decide that they will triple their bodies to fight the enemy. Tien Shinhan then decides to unleash all of his energy on his most devastating attack. Nappa is also able to survive this attack, while Tien Shinhan succumbs. Nappa is determined to take on Piccolo, Krillin, and Son Gohan. Vegeta intervenes and tells him to wait for three hours before he can get the long-awaited result. Son Goku to arrive.

During The break, Nappa says he thinks he’s having a lot of fun in creating destruction in the villages. Son Goku at that moment has finished traveling the Way of the Serpent and, thanks to God’s help, reaches the Earth 🌎 in a short time. He is now heading with the Golden Cloud to the place of combat. Piccolo You can save! Son Gohan.

The Saiyans do not wait. Son Goku and Nappa is ready for battle. Piccolo grabs Piccolo’s tail and takes him behind, but the Saiyan is able to hit Piccolo. He tells him that Vegeta and he have been training their tails since Raditz’s death. Nappa kicks Son Gohan. He makes him run away. Krillin takes on the enemy and engages in a battle. Nappa is inflicted by the Kienzan, but he does not succeed in using it. Nappa feels this. Son Goku is coming. Son Gohan takes on Nappa and kicks him out. Nappa, angry, hits Son Gohan. However, Piccolo steps in front to protect Son Gohan.🐲

Son Goku is on the battlefield

Together with Piccolo, the God of Earth also leaves. Son Gohan is sad for Piccolo’s death and wants revenge on Nappa. Nappa wins and he uses the Masenko, but he prevails and is ready for him to strike. Son Goku appears at that moment and rescues his son. Son Goku gives Krillin and Son Gohan a Senzu Bean. He prepares to revenge his friends who were eliminated. He proves that his superiority is unmatched against Nappa by landing powerful punches and dodges his every move. Son Goku, Vegeta and others prepare for The clash.

The fight for survival continues, but Son Goku wins and his enemy is defeated. Vegeta, feeling disgraced by his defeat, decides that he will kill his comrade. Son Goku now proposes to Vegeta a fight that takes place in another area and he asks him to follow him. The Land of Gizard.

The duel begins with Vegeta. Son Goku is far more powerful than Son Goku. Son Goku hits Vegeta with a barrage of punches, and he succeeds in doing so. Vegeta demonstrates his true power to Son Goku, causing earthquakes and unleashing thunderstorms. He also surrounds himself with A ball of energy. Son Goku is in normal form and can’t hit him. He is forced to use The Double Kaioken and then Triple Kaioken. Vegeta is now an Ape.

Vegeta so he took the hit and goes up top to prepare his Galick Gun. Son Goku manages to repel the attack using a Kamehameha that is disguised as a quadruple Kaioken. Vegeta and Son Goku are now exhausted. Vegeta then decides that he will become an ape. Since there is no moon, Vegeta artificially generates one. Thus, Oozaru. Son Goku makes preparations for The Spirit Bomb.

Krillin and Son Gohan. Son Goku might be in danger. Vegeta Oozaru tells Son Goku how turning into an Ape can increase your strength tenfold. Son Goku discovers that he killed Grandpa Son Gohan. He also destroyed a part of the city. The Tenkaichi Tournament many years ago. Son Goku is trying to escape Vegeta’s grasp, who wants him dead. Yajirobe arrives at the spot as well and is also surprised to see the ape. Son Goku tries to create the Spirit Bomb. But Vegeta spots him and tries his best to grab him. Son Goku finally hits Vegeta. The Taiyoken. He moves far away to begin the Spirit Bomb. But he has no time to throw it at the enemy. Vegeta is there and makes his attack fade away. Vegeta kicks his opponent and stomps upon him, making him feel miserable. Son Goku, with what little energy he had left, he hits his right eye with it, injuring the other side. Vegeta Oozaru clutches Son Goku.

Son Gohan & Krillin arrive at the site of the clash. Vegeta is sucking Son Goku. Yajirobe tells Son Gohan & Krillin that it’s too risky. They decide to run. Son Gohan, to allow Krillin’s Kienzan to strike Vegeta, Vegeta must place his head in front of him. Vegeta is able to avoid the blow that would have ripped off his tail, but Vegeta does not notice. Surprise, however, Yajirobe arrives with his sword. Vegeta’s tail. He then returns to normal. Vegeta attempts to attack Krillin, Son Gohan. Son Goku encourages Son Gohan, but when he witnesses his father suffering, little Son Gohan realizes the truth. The strength to hit Vegeta. Son Goku then transfers the energy from his body into Krillin to strike Vegeta. Son Gohan returns the orb to Vegeta.🐲

Vegeta and Son Gohan continue to fight. Krillin is determined to send the energy ball towards Vegeta. It is not his intention to avoid it, and it ends up in the hands of Son Gohan. He, following the advice from his father, pushes it towards Vegeta. The Saiyan cannot escape and is struck hard. Everyone rejoices and thinks it’s over, but Vegeta plumes from the sky, and he returns exhausted but determined to get revenge. He hits Krillin & Son Gohan. Vegeta however notices that the little one now has a tail. Krillin is determined to kill Vegeta.

Vegeta tries ripping off Son Gohan’s tail. But Yajirobe comes behind Vegeta, and he wounds him with his sword. Vegeta stands up, and while trying to keep his balance, hits Yajirobe with punches. Son Goku tells Son Gohan to look up at the sky, and Oozaru loses control. Krillin and Son Goku try to reason together. Thus begins the clash between Son Gohan Oozaru, Vegeta and Vegeta. Vegeta is unable to resist. After many fights, Vegeta is able to cut Son Gohan’s tail but the ape’s body crushes Vegeta’s. Vegeta calls the Attack Ball. He does not want to escape and tries his best to make it happen, but Krillin stops him with Yajirobe’s knife. Son Goku begs Krillin to stop killing him and let him go. In this way, Son Goku wants to regain his 💪 Strength, improve, and measure himself against him again.
