Does Bakugo Die in My Hero Academia? Answered

Bakugo is dead ? According to My Hero Academia’s manga Chapter 362 Bakugo actually dies and is currently deceased.

The All for One-controlled Shigaraki is now his enemy. He had been trying to buy time so that Deku could arrive in order to take on the big guy in their final confrontation. Despite having the support of UA’s Big Three, a slew Pro Heroes, and many of his classmates, All for One was too strong due to the incorporation of his many gathered quirks in the younger, less worn Shigaraki.

Does Bakugo Die in My Hero Academia? Answered

All for One had two reasons for wanting to kill Bakugo. The first was to inflict as much pain as possible on Izuku, possibly causing him to become too agitated to use One for all properly. Bakugo was a serious threat against All for One. He used his Explosion quirk with sufficient skill to have a chance against him in other circumstances.

Bakugo was determined to face All for One regardless of the outcome. Bakugo even tried to push his quirk towards new levels of power but not in a manner that could stop All for One.

There isn’t much to be interpreted in the manga. Bakugo is seen in several panels of the chapter in the afterlife. His heart has been broken or left lifeless. There are few hints that he may have made a mistake or gotten it wrong.

WHAT’S ABOUT?

Izuku Midoriya, a middle school student in a world that has superpowers, is among the 20 percent who were born without them. His dream is to be a superhero, and to attend UA High, the Japanese premier school for aspiring super heroes. After a run-in with All Might (the world’s greatest hero), he discovers that his idol has died and he wants to continue his legacy. Midoriya is his chosen successor.

All Might’s powers eventually lead to Midoriya being able to inherit their power and attend UA High where All Might trains the next generation. Midoriya and other students feel the need to either become heroes faster or be burdened by the appearance of a group o’ villains.

WHAT OTHER SUPERPOWERS ARE TALKING ABOUT?

WHAT OTHER SUPERPOWERS ARE TALKING ABOUT? My Hero Academia

MHA refers to superpowers as “quirks”. The closest analog could be mutant abilities in Marvel Comics. These include flashy powers and mutations such as wings or lizard-like skin. Midoriya’s friend and rival Bakugo can make explosions with his hands. Tsuyu, his classmate, has a quirk which gives her frog-like abilities, such as sticking to walls and jumping long distances.

Each of the quirks has a specific name — Bakugo’s is “Explosion” because they are tracked by government agencies. It seems that naming them is a good way of tracking and categorizing them, especially if they are shared by multiple people.

WAIT… THE GOVERNMENT TACKLES THEIR SUPERPOWERS? DID THAT SORT OF THING NOT LEAD TO TERRIBLE PROBLEMS and a “CIVIL WAR”, IN BOTH THE MOVIES AND MARVEL COMICS?

WAIT... THE GOVERNMENT TACKLES THEIR SUPERPOWERS? DID THAT SORT OF THING NOT LEAD TO TERRIBLE PROBLEMS and a "CIVIL WAR", IN BOTH THE MOVIES AND MARVEL COMICS?

Both accounts are yes. MHA may look like Japan today, but it was actually created in the near future at a time where people with quirks can be accepted by society. Six or seven generations have passed since the first quirks appeared. Despite some initial social issues, quirks are now accepted by society.

People with quirks don’t have to be persecuted like mutants in the X-Men comics. They are part of the majority and are running the show. It’s more about basic law and order rather than oppression. This allows schools to offer accreditation so that students can use their quirks to earn hero licenses.

THIS SEEMS LIKE A LOT WORLD BUILDING…

MHA does not go into this in depth and simply mentions the majority of it. To be a hero you will need a hero’s license. You must also go to school in order to obtain the license.

THEN WHAT IS THE FOCUS FOR THE SHOW ?

THEN WHAT IS THE FOCUS FOR THE SHOW ? My Hero Academia

The series is less focused on the individual struggles of the characters than the larger battle of heroes against villains (people who break the law). All the series in the comic anthology Weekly Shonen Jump share a common theme: friendship, struggle and victory. Although everyone interprets it differently, it usually means that characters struggle to achieve something but overcome the obstacles with the support of their friends.

Midoriya is trying to be a hero and All Might’s successor. All Might struggles to be an excellent teacher and to accept the fact that he will soon be no longer a hero. Others struggle with pride, self-doubt, conforming to family expectations, and even parental abuse. They may have superpowers but they are still high school students and their struggles reflect the larger struggle between heroes or villains.

WHY CAN ALL CHARACTERS LOOK SO DIFFERENT?

My Hero Academia WHY CAN ALL CHARACTERS LOOK SO DIFFERENT?

Instead of being modeled after Japanese heroes, All Might’s design is more like American superhero comics of the 1970s and 1980s. It features strong angular features with lots of dark shadows. Stain, an anti-hero character, appears later in the series. He looks like a mix of Image Comics characters from the ’90s (e.g. Spawn and The Maxx with clothing made by the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles

These design choices were made with care, but they don’t seem out of place in the overall aesthetic. You can experience dramatic changes in your appearance depending on the superpower.

But there is a spinoff comic called My Hero Academia Vigilantes. It’s ancillary, so if you’re interested in more world building and what’s going on beyond a high school student’s view, I recommend the main series. You can also read it online for free in English.
