He refuses to be familiar and chooses to disappear, instead choosing to live a life full of intoxication, laziness, and vice. But, things are rarely as they seem in the “world over here” and sometimes require cunning and desperation.

Kogami is an excellent detective and his original assignment, Division 01, has greatly benefited from his ability to quickly crack cases.

Eren said in the series that only those who continue moving forward will ever find out.
