Black Frieza Vs Broly : Who Would Win ?

Black Frieza Vs Broly

The introduction of Frieza’s new Black form in the manga has opened up a lot of possibilities for Dragon Ball, especially in terms of the future of the plot. Currently, Frieza is the strongest mortal in Universe 7 after quickly eliminating Gas, Goku and Vegeta. But the one opponent that neither Goku nor Vegeta have been able to defeat without merging or coming close is Broly, the strongest Saiyan in Universe 7 and arguably the strongest Saiyan in the multiverse. So in a fight between Black Frieza and Broly, who would win?

Black Frieza is stronger than Broly at the moment. But that doesn’t mean that Black Frieza will win in a fight against Broly. And that is the biggest nuance of all.

It was quite surprising to see Frieza completely outclass Goku and Vegeta in his debut as Black Frieza, as he was never advertised as strong enough to reach their level. Nonetheless, Broly has already shown his adaptability and amazing rise to power in a fight.
Now, let’s examine the question of who is stronger, Frieza or Broly ?

Broly and his powers

Broly is a non-canon character created by Shigeyasu Yamauchi. He appears in three films dedicated to him: Broly – The Legendary Super Saiyan (1993), Broly – Second Coming (1994), and Bio-Broly (1994).

A new version of Broly, rewritten by Akira Toriyama with a much different storyline, appears in the movie Dragon Ball Super: Broly. In the Dragon Ball universe, he is one of the few Saiyans who survived the destruction of planet Vegeta by Frieza.

Broly vs Black Frieza : Who Would Win?

Since Dragon Ball Z’s Broly is the Legendary Super Saiyan, he has a somewhat different physique than other Super Saiyans. In his normal state, he has black hair like other Saiyans, but already has a very impressive build for his size and his musculature.

At this level, Broly’s power is already very high and he is immune to Vegeta’s attacks. At the Legendary Super Saiyan stage, his musculature increases dramatically, his eyes turn white (without pupils) and his hair is straightened into thin golden strands, but his aura can give them a greenish color.

His clothes and everything he wears with it (boots, bracelets, belt, necklace, and gold hoop earrings) seem stretchy like Frieza’s army outfits as their sizes grow as Broly transforms.

Broly and his powers

Broly’s gentle and shy character when he has his tiara in his normal state stands in stark contrast to his destructive and cruel demeanor when transformed. It is as if the gigantic power that was in him was dragging him into a rush of destructive madness, against which he cannot fight.

We notice that when he was a child, he could already transform into a Super Saiyan, but not yet at the ultimate stage. He also hurt his father in this state. Just before his father forcibly placed the tiara on him, we noticed, likewise, that although he had just woken up, that he was speaking respectfully to Paragus, before he realizes that his father is up to something.

It became clear that Broly is mentally unstable, and that he suffers from behavior that falls within the scope of a bipolar disorder or something similar. Absence, fury and joy are the main emotions that animate him, but like all Super Saiyans, once transformed, Broly demonstrates relative self-control.

It’s important to note that Broly’s legendary Super Saiyan status from the Dragon Ball Z movies is at odds with the Dragon Ball manga. In the manga, the super Saiyan is admittedly introduced initially as a legendary warrior appearing once every thousand years.

But subsequently, several Super Saiyan appear and it is established that every Super Saiyan is legendary. Therefore, the fact that Broly is presented as the legendary Super Saiyan is therefore a tautology. This is probably why this inconsistent status was dropped for Dragon Ball Super’s Broly.

In the film, he transformed into a giant ape when he was sent to the asteroid Vampa when he was younger. This transformation is not shown in the film, though. On Earth, Broly first transforms into a rabid ape.

He is no longer able to transform into a giant ape because, according to Paragus, Broly no longer has his tail and cannot seem to contain the power of the giant ape within him. In this form, Broly’s hair is spiky and stays black, and his eyes turn slightly golden.

He becomes fierce, his power increases considerably and he shows himself capable of adapting to his opponent regardless of the latter’s power. Over the course of the fight, he manages to transform into a Super Saiyan on his own.

Broly Dragon Ball Super

Seeing his father being killed before his eyes, Broly totally loses control of himself and transforms into a maximum power Super Saiyan, where there his hair is green, like the Legendary Saiyan from the Dragon Ball Z movies.

Broly’s power is then limitless and nothing can stop him, such that he manages to easily prevail over two Saiyans transformed into Super Saiyan Blue.

Black Frieza And His Power

Frieza explains he was able to achieve the Black Frieza state when he discovered a Hyperbolic Time Chamber on a conquered planet of his and trained within it for 10 years’ worth of time, adding that it took plenty of toil to do so. The form’s power greatly exceeds that of the Golden Frieza form. Compared to when he first demonstrated Golden Frieza, he appears to have fully mastered the form and moved past any stamina flaw the form may have had by the time he unveiled it, due to the length of time he spent training upon acquiring the form.

During the Granolah the Survivor Saga, Frieza made the form known when arriving on Planet Cereal, rapidly switching in and out of the form to kill a transformed Gas with a single Ruthless Blow. He then formally unveiled the transformation to True Ultra Instinct Goku and Ultra Ego Vegeta before promptly knocking them both out at once with a strike to each Saiyan’s abdomen.

Black Frieza vs Broly: Who would win?

We could, actually, give you a proper analysis of the things we have written above but that wouldn’t really do the trick when compared with what we have decided to go with. Namely, as Black Frieza and Broly have, indeed, fought in the movie, we thought that it would be better for us to just recap this fight to explain why Broly is stronger than Black Frieza, as we have said above.

In Dragon Ball, it is not possible to evaluate the power in terms of numbers, because this method was abandoned some time ago due to the excessiveness of the power levels. Nevertheless, we can do it by comparison, and this is how we will see how strong Frieza noir is. He became so strong after training in another dimension for ten years that he quickly got rid of Gas, who was supposed to be the strongest mortal in Universe 7. To be much stronger than the strongest, Frieza’s power level could be ridiculously high at this point.

Black Frieza vs Broly: Who would win?

Broly’s power level is also immeasurable, especially after he simply took a lot of hits from Gogeta. Plus, he was able to hold his own against Gogeta. Which is no small feat.
If it is true that Broly is extremely powerful and is largely stronger than Goku and Vegeta in their most powerful form, let’s not forget that Gas is already stronger than Broly due to his wish and Black Frieza is at an even higher level compared to these characters.

Gogeta being a multiplication and not an addition. Knowing that we are now at billions of units of fighting power. So ask yourself what is the power of Gogeta ? Indeed, It is undeniable that Gogeta is stronger than Frieza & Broly. Besides, Gas and Granola’s wish is to become the strongest in the universe.

So let’s assume that during his fight against Gogeta, Broly exploded his power to a level never reached before. And when the fight is over, he came back to a level a bit closer to what he had at the beginning of the fight…
Good…. Let’s put it into perspective in numbers.

Let’s suppose that Broly had 1 billion units before his fight against Gogeta, had an anger boost and went up to 15 billion units. However, as soon as the fight ended, just like the Gohan Vs Cell fight, his power went down and we will estimate him at about 1 billion units.
It would be logical that in the wish of Granolah and Gas, the dragon has only taken into account the 1 billion units of Broly because this power is not mastered by him.
So when we take this factor, Black Frieza could dominate the fight at the beginning but if he doesn’t finish quickly he couldn’t beat Broly.

Taking all this into account, Broly should be stronger than Frieza
