In Demon Slayer, Nakime is a biwa-playing demon who was the occupant of the dimensional infinity fortress. At first, she only summoned the other demons on Muzan’s command, but after Hantengu’s death, she became the Upper Rank Four, being one of the Twelve Demon Moons.

APPEARANCE Nakime Demon Slayer

Nakime was a thin woman with long black hair that had well-trimmed ends. Her claws were sharp and used to pluck the string of her biwa. The fringe behind her only had one eye. She wore a black kimono that had white lines, as well as a belt that had lighter brown stripes, and white socks.

Her past was not so good. Nakime used to be an unnoticed biwa singer who was struggling to survive. However, the man she was wed to was a maniacal addict to gambling and squandered her savings and earnings and did nothing for their lives.

A few nights ago she was supposed to perform her biwa on a specific stage, but she discovered that her husband had taken her dress to perform and gambled with it. In fury, Nakime murdered her husband with a hammer. Soon after killing the man she loved, Nakime discovered that the scheduled time for playing was rapidly approaching, and she was forced to wear a worn dress when she left to perform in a hurry. But the audience didn’t like her rough look and with the horrific experience of murdering someone for the first time present in her memory, her hands began shaking with anxiety as she performed her biwa.

However, the sound emanating from the biwa, as Nakime performed with the utmost intensity, was stunning that the audience adored her performance and demanded another encore. Both her patrons as well as the stage manager were delighted with the surprising performance and Nakime was very well compensated. In the years since, Nakime developed a disturbing habit of killing people prior to performing in front of a large audience. It was odd that every performance she gave on her biwa after committing murder received overwhelmingly praise from both customers and stage managers.

On a fateful day she was given a routine task to perform at a different stage. She decided to choose someone to kill. The victim was none other than Muzan Kibutsuji. Muzan was impressed by Nakime’s abilities to search, and which is why he spared her life and offered to transform her into a demon. Nakime took Muzan’s offer, and became a demon, and rose through the ranks to become Muzan’s most revered servant.

Abilities Of Nakime Demon Slayer

General Abilities: Although she doesn’t show any combat abilities, as the owner of the fourth-highest place of the Twelve Kizuki, Nakime is a formidable demon. She was able to use unconventional Blood Demon Art to thwart Obanai’s efforts and Mitsuri to behead her, and to thwart the two Hashira for the majority of the time in the Infinity Castle Arc, with neither of the two combatants being able to even scratch her.
