Piccolo’s 12 Greatest Moments in Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero Ranked

Piccolo in Dragon Ball Super

Piccolo in Dragon Ball Super. Piccolo was ranked first in our list of main characters in Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero. Now we are going to take a look at some of his most memorable moments. Piccolo was an intriguing character when he was introduced as a villain in “Dragon Ball”, before “Z,” “GT,” and “Super.” It’s great to see him shine as the “Super Hero” lead.

Piccolo doesn’t have to be the most popular character in the action scenes. This is a great thing. There are some cute moments with Pan, as well as moments of humor with Bulma and Gohan. As with many other entries in the “Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero” story, the film keeps things fresh by offering new transformations to some characters. Piccolo is one of these characters and he uses his new form in its memorable final scene.

Let’s now take a look at Piccolo in “Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero” without further delay.

Spoilers ahead for “Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero”.

1- Gohan after the fight

Piccolo's 12 Greatest Moments in Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero Ranked

Piccolo is the main character in “Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero”, but the movie isn’t all about him. The film is actually about Piccolo’s love affair with Gohan. The cast has spoken well about this emotional core. Cell Max is defeated by Piccolo and Gohan, as we have already mentioned.

The fight’s final moments are great, but we think the moment after it is over is even more special, when Gohan uses Piccolo’s Special Beam Cannon move against Cell Max. Piccolo congratulates Gohan for his victory, and we can see him almost blushing and turning his back so that no one can see him. The fact that Gohan used a Special Beam Cannon to end the fight clearly means a lot. It was a touching moment between a father and son. This will no doubt leave long-time “Dragon Ball” fans beaming with pride.

Piccolo cannot miss an opportunity for Gohan to train, so when Gohan mentions that Vegeta and Goku may have struggled with Cell Max, Piccolo informs him that that is exactly why he must keep improving. Piccolo, like any father, biological or not gives congratulations to the child he raised and encourages Gohan to continue improving. This is a touching scene that’s one of my favorite scenes in the movie.

2- Great Namekian Orange Piccolo

Piccolo's 12 Greatest Moments in Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero Ranked

It seems that the good guys have won after Dr. Hedo and the Gammas have been convinced about Magenta’s evil and the Red Ribbon Army. Magenta isn’t giving up, and unleashes Cell Max, the unfinished cell of his evil plan to end all things. The creature doesn’t obey commands or act intelligently. Some fans disagree with this description.

Check Out: How Strong Is Orange Piccolo?

Piccolo and Gohan join Bulma’s team to battle the giant creature. Piccolo is reminded by Krillin of his ability as a giant, which he calls the “Great Namekian,” so Piccolo blends his Orange Piccolo form and his Great Namekian form in an attempt to match the size of Cell Max. Cell Max is literally able to fight another person his size when they engage in battle as two giants.

Piccolo’s transformation and Cell Max’s size do not mean Piccolo is any stronger. The fight goes on and it’s great to see these two giants fighting. The big bad is defeated by Piccolo’s new transformation and Gohan’s teamwork in the last moments of the fight.

3- Appeal to Gamma 2’s Morality

Piccolo's 12 Greatest Moments in Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero Ranked

Orange Piccolo could defeat Gamma 2, as we see in their second battle. However, Piccolo appeals instead to Gamma’s morality, even though he landed a strong punch. Although he is working with the Red Ribbon Army when Dr. Hedo created Gamma 1 & Gamma 2, he programmed a moral guide into the androids. He modeled the program on his favorite superheroes. Piccolo can now argue to Gamma 2 why he should join Piccolo and Gohan, instead of fighting for the Red Ribbon Army.

Gamma 2 is told by Piccolo that he has been lied too, that the Z fighters were not Earth’s enemies and that it’s actually the Red Ribbon Army who have nefarious plans to destroy Earth’s population. Piccolo’s words are confusing to the android, but Piccolo and Gohan can’t help but notice that Piccolo is protecting a little girl and the Red Ribbon Army took a child as a pawn. This evil group is not afraid to hurt or even try to kill her. This situation makes it very clear who the bad guys are.

4- Transformation into Orange Piccolo

Piccolo's 12 Greatest Moments in Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero Ranked

Piccolo transforms into “Orange Piccolo” after he has reached his full potential and a little more, during the second battle against Gamma 2 in “Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero”. Piccolo grows in height, gains bulk and develops larger muscles. But the most significant change is his skin color. It changes from a greenish to a dark orange.

Although Piccolo was defeated by Gamma 2, the transformation into Orange Piccolo made Gamma 2 a much less formidable foe. His strikes are devastating and he is able to dodge and catch the android’s attacks almost effortlessly. Although transformations and new forms are a regular part of “Dragon Ball”, they are usually reserved for Saiyan characters. This is an exciting moment for Piccolo fans and will be a highlight for them all.

5- Pan Training

Piccolo's 12 Greatest Moments in Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero Ranked

“Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero”, opens with an introduction of the villains and then turns our attention to Piccolo who is spending time in Pan’s presence. Pan, Gohan’s and Videl’s daughter, is following her father’s lead by being trained by Piccolo. It is wonderful to see a skilled fighter, once a villain, spend time with a little girl struggling to master flying.

Piccolo gives Pan tips to help her focus and center so she can fly. But she is having trouble understanding the technique. Piccolo assures her that she will be able to do it and they take a water break, which highlights their differences in size. Pan questions Piccolo about Gohan’s fighting skills and strength. She is surprised to learn that Piccolo thinks he could be the most powerful fighter on Earth. Piccolo said that he knew Gohan could be unstoppable, but that Piccolo had to train him. This highlights the importance of hard work for the youngster.

This is a great first scene with our hero because it shows his caring nature. Piccolo’s training and friendship with Gohan in this conversation is a thread that viewers can follow back to the beginning stories of “Dragon Ball Z.”

6- Call Videl

Piccolo's 12 Greatest Moments in Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero Ranked

Piccolo may believe that the time he spends training and developing Pan’s skills is all about him, but the truth is that he’s a kind of a babysitter. Piccolo and the viewers are made aware of this when Videl calls him shortly after Pan leaves for kindergarten. Videl had been training with Piccolo. Videl tells Piccolo that she will be busy training her martial arts students for tournaments and that Gohan has been busy with research. She asks Piccolo if he would be willing to pick Pan up after she finishes her schooling.

Piccolo initially protests, asking her father why he can’t pick her up, but eventually he accepts. It’s obvious that he cares about Pan and wants her to have a positive role in her life. Even though it frustrates him that her parents depend on him for caretaking, Videl also offers to buy Pan a stuffed animal (“One you like”), something he has never requested. Videl is a big fan of stuffed animals and has an increasing collection.

7- Gohan is disappointed

Piccolo's 12 Greatest Moments in Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero Ranked

Piccolo, frustrated and a bit flustered after his call with Videl calls, visits Gohan to inquire why he doesn’t have the time to pick his daughter up from school. Gohan claims that he is deep in a research project and must focus to complete it. Piccolo is worried about Gohan’s dedication to his work. He tells him he should spend more time with his family and train more.

Gohan claims that Vegeta, Goku and all threats can be handled by them and that the world doesn’t need him. Piccolo attacks Piccolo just as he is saying these words. Piccolo’s first strike is defeated by Gohan, but not his second. Piccolo then places the traditional weighted, heavy gi on Gohan. He struggles to stand, which shows how far he has fallen. Piccolo shows how much he still cares for Gohan and his training. The scene, except for the attack, reads more like a conversation between a father and son.

8- Going undercover

Piccolo's 12 Greatest Moments in Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero Ranked

Piccolo escapes from Gamma 2’s misguided attack, but he uses a clever trick to make it seem like he has lost the fight. This trick allows Piccolo to track Gamma 2, back to Red Ribbon Army headquarters. Piccolo is able to sneak into the headquarters and steal a soldier’s uniform. This allows him to roam freely around the facility without being stopped. He is able to follow Gamma 2 to a meeting with Magenta and Doctor Hedo where he learns more about their plans to eliminate Bulma, Goku and all Z fighters.

This sequence is important for the plot but also allows for great humor. Piccolo, who arrives at the Red Ribbon Army meeting, notices that none of the grunts are human. Piccolo plays it off like he has stomach problems, but the soldier is able to believe him. Piccolo continues to converse with the soldier, and it sometimes seems like Piccolo will give himself up. But he always recovers and manages his disguise. The scene is funny and well written.

9- Meeting Dende

Piccolo's 12 Greatest Moments in Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero Ranked

Piccolo discovers that the Red Ribbon Army is back with powerful androids, and is about to unleash Cell, a more powerful version of Cell. He immediately calls Bulma to ask Bulma if Vegeta and Goku are capable of taking on this new threat. Piccolo must come up with new ways to defend Earth and his friends, but they aren’t there — they are training on Beerus’ planet sparring.

Piccolo recalls that the Grand Elder Guru of Namek was able unlock Krillin and Gohan’s potentials years ago. He visits Dende, the current guardian on the Earth, to find out if he can help him unlock his latent potential. Dende is too young for that ability. However, he offers to upgrade Piccolo’s Dragon Balls to unlock his potential.

Although the scene doesn’t last very long, it is nice to see Dende appear. Piccolo and Dende, the Namekians who live permanently on Earth, make for a great scene.

10- Untapped potential?

Piccolo's 12 Greatest Moments in Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero Ranked

Piccolo met Dende after deciding that gathering Dragon Balls and wishing Shenron to unlock his potential are the best options. Bulma, who already has the Dragon Balls ready for wishmaking, meets Piccolo to call the wish-granting Dragon.

The dragon-summoning sequence looks amazing as always. It is animated beautifully and the interaction between the pitch-black sky, giant, glowing dragon and it all looks fantastic. The best part about the scene is the casual conversation Piccolo and Bulma have with the mythical dragon that has the ability to alter time and space. Piccolo’s wish to unlock all his warrior potential is granted, and the three of them have a short conversation as if they were old friends.

Piccolo is granted his wish by Shenron, likely due to his long relationship with Piccolo and other Z fighters. Piccolo unlocks all of his potential and even adds “a bit more” to Namekian’s strength.

11- Bulma’s wishes shocked me

Piccolo's 12 Greatest Moments in Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero Ranked

Piccolo has made his wish for Shenron’s potential to be realized, and he is unable to think of any other wish, so he tells Bulma that she can have the remaining two wishes. Bulma is clear about what she wants, and asks Shenron to remove some wrinkles from her face. These are not visible to the viewers, but Bulma will take her word for it). Piccolo is stunned that Bulma would use the metaphysical power from the Dragon Balls to perform what are essentially cosmetic surgery (though Bulma can wish to avoid that part). He’s even more shocked when he discovers that Bulma has done this before.

This scene is made even more funny when Bulma realizes she could have just wished that Vegeta and Goku would return to Earth to take on the Red Ribbon Army and Cell Max. Piccolo is frustrated by her inability to fulfill her wishes regarding her appearance. However, she correctly criticizes him for not calling back Vegeta and Goku.

12- Faking a kidnapping with Pan

Piccolo's 12 Greatest Moments in Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero Ranked

Piccolo, now realizing his potential and confident that he is as strong as ever, returns to Red Ribbon Army headquarters and sneaks into the ongoing discussion about how they will defeat the Z fighters. Piccolo disguised as a Red Ribbon Army soldier, they plan to kidnap Pan in order to get Gohan out.

Piccolo and another Red Ribbon soldier arrive at Pan’s school to pick Pan up. Pan knocks the other soldier unconscious but Piccolo recognizes Piccolo’s energy signature, and she is her sweet self with him. He assures her she’ll be safe, but she must pretend she is scared to make the others believe she’s afraid. He wants her to act afraid to get Gohan to take action. Although it’s quite cruel to try to trick Gohan, Pan is willing to do the same and puts on quite a show with Piccolo’s support.
