Wanda is a 🐶 dog-like mink that lives in Zou. She is part of the Musketeers and is also considered a “royal” bird.

Appearance

Wanda has a light brown muzzle, ears, tail, and fur typical of a 🐶 dog. Her long, curly brown hair is similar to Nami’s. A blue shawl covers her shoulders, a blue waistband, and a white headband secures her ears.

During the fight against the Hundred Beast 🏴 ☠️ Pirates, she wore a cowboy cap, a long, loose-fitting coat that was slung over her shoulders, short shorts, and a T-shirt.

Character

She considers humans “inferior minks,” just like other minks, because they lack fur. She is not hostile, as she tried leading the way for the Straw Hat 🏴 ☠️ Pirates and prevented her companions from attacking them. However, she still believes that no mercy should ever be shown to anyone who intrudes. Wanda cares deeply about the island and its inhabitants. Like dogs, she loves to lick others.

Wanda finds Brook’s bones charming. She has a soft spot for animals. Luffy stated that some minks find humans appealing.

Relationships

Dogstorm

Dogstorm gave her the ability to ride his wany and wear the dress of an old ruler of the country. This shows that he is very trusting of her.

Straw Hat Pirates

When Wanda first encountered the Straw Hat 🏴 ☠️ Pirates, she assumed that they were Jack’s men and attacked them. When she learned that they were going to rescue them, she was overcome with joy and is extremely grateful to them for saving her duchy of Mokomo from total destruction.

Jack

Jack’s invasion traumatized Wanda. He reduced the duchy of Mokomo to ruins. She burst into tears and vowed to never forgive him for his actions.

Strength and Skill

Wanda is a “royal bird,” or an assistant to the rulers. She can move freely between the city and the forest in order for them to communicate and respond to their needs.

As she is part of the group of musketeers, it can be assumed that her strength is comparable to those of her companions. Even after being poisoned by Koro, Wanda was able to keep moving and fighting despite her injuries. Like other members of her race, Wanda can emit electrical discharges from her body.

Sulong

She can also transform into Sulong like all minks and can even control that form.

Weapons

She is a skilled sword-wielder and carries a sword.

History

Past

Roger and his crew were met when they arrived at Zou and later reported the news of the 🏴 ☠️ pirate king’s death to Pedro.

Time Jump

When the 🏴 ☠️ Pirates of the Hundred Beasts attack the Duchy of Mokomo, Wanda joins the rest of the Musketeers in an effort to stop them. After five days of continuous fighting with alternating day and night warriors, it was finally over. Jack and his companions manage to 🤕 defeat the minks thanks to a gas weapon.

Dressrosa Saga

After the devastation caused by Zou, the Straw Hat 🏴 ☠️ Pirates arrive. After having escaped Dressrosa, they send Jack’s men to the island to take flight and then they go to the minks to assist them. Wanda attacks those who consider them enemies. Nami is ready to explode. Only the intervention of Tristan and Pedro manages to calm her down, who explain that the 🏴 ☠️ pirates are bona fide. The pirates then disperse the poison and create an antidote, which cures the minks, and become their benefactors.

Nine days later, Wanda, as a gesture of friendship, gives the clothes of an old ruler of the country to Nami. However, shortly thereafter, Capone Bege and Pekoms arrive at the duchy. The latter takes Sanji. Caesar was away, so Cat-Wife advised her not to tell the rest.

Zou Saga

Two days later, Wanda finds the remaining Straw Hat 🏴 ☠️ Pirates and Law, who have escaped into the country. After explaining to them, she explains how to reach their companions. 🥕 Carrot travels to the whale forest. Luffy has been confronted by his guardians. After reaching their destination, the two explain to Rody and Black Bac that they will need to identify the intruder and deter them from attacking again. Wanda, Carrot, and others offer to go with Luffy.

Once they reach the fortress, Luffy’s other companions, the minks, host a banquet in celebration of the arrival of the Straw Hat Pirates. During these festivities, Wanda sees Dogstorm awake from his coma. Luffy’s crew reaches him. He began to tell them all about Jack and his arrival on the island. All the residents of the city were asleep at night. Wanda and 🥕 Carrot will accompany Luffy and his companions for introductions. Viper-Cat allows him to talk with Pekoms. Wanda then drinks with Pekoms after speaking to them. Straw Hat 🏴 ☠️ Pirates, the Heart Pirates, and the other forest minks.

The next morning, Kin’emon and Kanjuro arrive at the island. Wanda and the others reach the samurai to discover that Momonosuke is part of the Kozuki Family. As a gesture of respect, Storm-🐶 Dog and Viper-Cat, Wanda, and all the minks agree to celebrate. Jack attacks Zunisha, who prepares to fight, but the elephant shoots down the 🏴 ☠️ pirate’s entire fleet with a trunk shot on Momonosuke’s orders.

Wanda will later propose to accompany Luffy and Pekoms. However, Cat-Wife only authorizes Pedro to accompany them. Wanda then greets Sanji and his rescue group as they leave Zou.

She later finds out from Variete that 🥕 Carrot has left with Luffy’s group. Dogstorm tells her that he stayed in Zou to stop a potential new attack from the Hundred Beast Pirates.

Wano Country Arc

As a pair, Dogstorm and the other Musketeers, Wanda discovers that Kuri is one of the people who steal weapons and supplies from Kaido. Kaido eventually notices the note, which blames the Atamayama thieves. He reports the incident to Storm-🐶dog.

The Musketeers visit Kuri’s abandoned village, where Kin’emon informs the group that the enemy has found the coded messages that they have sent to their allies and the tattoos which distinguish them.

Two days before battle, Wanda is among them. Robin reports that Onigashima is a winter island, and John explains that there will be a full Moon, although it will be obscured by clouds, on the night of attack. Wanda then thinks about Cat-Wizard and hopes that he will be there in time.

She witnesses the creation of another tomorrow. Pedro and Shimotsuki Yasuie’s graves.

On the night before the fire festival, he boarded the ferry Thousand Sunny. He finally reaches Tokage port where he reunites with his allies. Kanjuro, Orochi’s spy, is seen destroying a fleet of enemy ships. Kanjuro also escapes after kidnapping Momonosuke.

When she reaches Onigashima, she takes part in the fights. When she sees 🥕 Carrot running away, she asks her where she is going and the latter reveals that she has seen the one who caused Pedro’s death. The two turn into Sulongs and reach the 🏴 ☠️ pirate in time to save Marco. Wanda tells Marco that he should go on and promises to take care of Perospero.

The moon is covered by clouds, which allows Perospero to 🤕 defeat 🥕 Carrot and Wanda thanks to the cancellation of the Sulong.

Later, Wanda and 🥕 Carrot see Perospero being thrown against rocks. Gattovipera reaches the victim, intent on avenging Pedro. The full moon makes it possible to transform into Sulong. When the moon is obscured by clouds, the transformation is halted and the girls get worried. Pussycat is the beginning of the end. However, when the moon becomes visible again, the latter returns to Sulong and 🤕 defeats Perospero.

Wanda, 🥕 Carrot, and Sicilian reach their ruler who suggests to the latter to be careful not to transform into Sulong now that the moon is visible again, wondering what happened.

Prototypes Available in One Piece

In One Piece Vivre Card, two prototypes exist of the character. In one, she was supposed to be a squirrel-like mink.

Differences between anime and manga

Time jump

After Jack charges Dogstorm, the two of them are covered in smoke, and Wanda wants to continue the attack.

Zou Saga

She, 🥕 Luffy, Carrot, and Luffy take a shortcut when riding on a wany. Wanda later reports that Cat-Viper was also in a coma. The 🏴 ☠️ pirate and mink party is extended, and later Luffy swings from the bridge, where the others are also walking.

She is confronted by large wasps on her way to the whale forest.

Additionally, the scene where Sanji imagines opening the box with a scared expression. The silhouettes of crew members and the Baratie are replaced.

The second attack was by the Hundred Beast 🏴 ☠️ Pirates. Nami asked Wanda if Wanda had a nautical map of the territories below Big Mom’s control, and the mink believes she should be with her crew. Shortly thereafter, she was joined by Nami, Carrot, and Luffy. She heads to Zunisha’s paw for treatment.

When Pedro calls Sicilian, he is so loud that the musketeer begins to attack him. Wanda then steps in between them. The dialogue between Variete and Wanda, where Variete tries to deny he was bribed by 🥕 Carrot, is also extended.

Wano Country Arc

It is displayed when Wanda, 🥕 Carrot, and other minks steal food after digging an underground passage.

Wanda and 🥕 Carrot clash between the Atamayama thieves and the 🏴 ☠️ pirates led by Holdem.

Wanda leads a group of minks in front of the castle’s entrance to prevent the enemies from entering, and 🥕 Carrot arrives to give her a hand, before walking away as he hears Perospero’s voice.
