Rebelde Season 2Recap
Season 1 of “Rebelde,” followed the story about a group of high school students who attended Elite Way School (or EWS) in order to learn how music is made. The show, which is a cliché teenage drama, explored the love-hate relationship between the characters and the competition they had to win the “Battle Of The Bands”, a singing competition. Although there were some interesting cliffhangers towards the end Season 1, the opening season of Season 2 “Rebelde” reduced the drama.
Esteban Torres was only five years old when he lost his mother. Marcelo Colucci, an Argentinian business tycoon was his biological dad. This allowed him to be related with Marcelo’s classmate Luka (a spoilt brat). At the beginning of Season 2, Esteban and Luka were open to one another. Jana Cohen Gandia was involved in a second, much more complicated relationship with Esteban. Jana and Esteban had separated during the last season to be able to focus on their art. Esteban and Jana long for each other, but Esteban secretly starts seeing other people to make Esteban jealous.
Season 2’s start reveals that Maria “MJ”, Jose, and Sebastian “Seba” Langarica won The Battle Of The Bands. Marcelo disqualified Jana and her Rebelde. Maria had lied about her friends and teamed up with Seba during the previous season. Season 2 continues to tell the story about Maria’s actions as well as Jane’s rivalry. Jane is furious at MJ for stealing her band. This season focuses on her complicated relationship with Seba. MJ still feels for Guillermo Alvarez. However, she struggles to choose between Dixon and Seba.
Gustavo Bauman (a new Music Excellence Program, MEP) music instructor who makes life difficult for students and tortures them using his toxic teaching methods is the most significant conflict in Season 2. Let’s find out more about Gustavo, his demands on students.
Rebelde Season 2: Who was Gustavo Bauman What Was He Looking For?
Gustavo was a well known music producer. Everyone wanted to work for him. He became an organizer of Trend-Z awards, and he stopped producing music. His personality, beliefs, and teaching methods remind me of Terence Fletcher who is the ruthless Terence Fletcher as seen in “Whiplash” (192019). Gus’ personality wasn’t as deep. He informed students at EWS that there would be no “Battle of the Bands” when he arrived. He would rather judge students based upon their solo performances. At the Trend-Z Awards, he would launch the winner with GB Records to stardom at the close of their academic year.
Gus wanted every student to get out of their comfort zone, but his methods weren’t gentle enough. Gus’s new student was Oscar Cabarga Negrete. Gus made Andi Agosti, the drummer an addict, and even overdosed at the school. Later, it was discovered that Gus used the incident in order to get Celina Ferrer (current EWS principal), fired by the board and placed him in charge. Gus was honest about his intentions from the moment he took power. Gus wanted EWS to be a place that produced the most talented musicians in the country.
Gus’s appearance also sparked a debate among students as to which art form is more important. Followers, music, or fans? These are the best methods to make music and get discovered. Gus believed it was essential to learn how to get new fans and keep them entertained through controversy or other means in order to become a successful musician.
Dixon believes music should not be his only purpose. People would follow Dixon if he was passionate about his craft. Dixon and other students protested Gus’ administration and began jamming out outside the school, which was later named “The Under.” Gus gave Dixon one last warning. Gus’s administration was not liked by all students, but they could not rebel against him because he was the ultimate authority within EWS.
Rebelde Season 2 – Who Won The Final Performance
Gus had told students previously that there wouldn’t be a Battle Of The Bands so Gus organized an individual singing contest as their final performance for the academic year. Gus had previously expelled Dixon as MEP. Dixon was shocked at Dixon’s narcissistic friends and decided that he was more superior. Gus allowed Dixon to perform in final. Dixon could transfer to another school of music if he loses. Gus recognized an opportunity for Dixon to be stopped and agreed quickly. Gus was the only person who could decide the winner, and Dixon would have not been declared the winner.
Gus decided Esteban was the winner, even though Dixon performed one of his most memorable rap musicals. Gus knew Esteban was a greedy musician who would do anything for stardom and success. Gus managed Esteban’s need for fame, and he was an easy target.
What did Luka discover about Gus?
After the overdose, Luka took responsibility. He later discovered that Oscar had given Andi the bottle. Luka was able to find Esteban’s tablet at Esteban’s birthday celebration. Marcelo was warned by an email that he should not hire Gus. Freddy’s mother was an “Supernova” member and sent him the email. Freddy later died of a drug overdose. Gus was clearly Freddy’s music producer. Luka saw the similarities in Freddy’s and Andi’s cases. He concluded Gus had been indirectly prescribing pills to students to help them reach their limits.
Luka sent Gus a text during the last performance, asking him to meet him at the cafeteria roof. Luka informed Gus from the roof that he knew all about Freddy’s passing and what had happened to him. Gus was also suffering from mental exhaustion. Luka didn’t want to expose the perpetrator but was determined to use his secrets to his advantage. Marcelo sent Luka to Texas military school. Luka was looking for a way out.
Gus offered him a contract for a label. Oscar had already received the same contract. This would have allowed Luka to leave the shadows of his father and not depend on him for all his financial needs. Gus wasn’t a person who gave contracts to everyone. Luka and his threats convinced him to push him off of the roof.
Luka’s suicide attempt almost looked like suicide. He was unconscious for several hours and could not tell the truth. Luka finally woken up at the conclusion of Season 2 “Rebelde”. But it was too late.
‘Rebelde’ Season 2: Ending Explained – Is Gus Dead?
Oscar was in love with Luka deeply and was shocked to hear of his tragic accident. He felt he could have saved Luka from Marcelo but he didn’t. Luka then attempted suicide. Gus, who had evidence against Luka arrived in Luka’s room at night. Oscar, who was sleeping, saw Gus standing beside Luka’s bed. Gus quickly disposed of Luka’s cell phone and destroyed all evidence. Oscar found out the truth. Gus scanned through Luka’s chat to discover that he was not the first Luka had ever met. Gus spotted the connections, and concluded that Gus had helped Luka reach the top.
Jane, Andi, and MJ all believed that Gus had given the pills to Andi via Oscar. To expose Gus they asked Oscar to testify. Oscar initially refused assistance, even though Gus had promised Oscar a contract that would rejuvenate his career and given him the opportunity to live his best life. Oscar discovered the truth about Luka’s accident and released his video testimony. This revealed Gus’ true identity. It was too late.
Seba, who already had told Gus his classmates were conspiring against Gus’, posted quickly to Twitter a video about the rumors surrounding Freddy’s overdose incident. Oscar’s words had no meaning after Gus uploaded his personal video. Esteban Torres was Gus’ only witness.
Esteban was denial since Season 2 of “Rebelde”. In the first season, Esteban didn’t have a passion for music and came to EWS in order to discover the truth about his mother. Season 2 revealed his carefree attitude as well as his lack of a clear goal. Gus encouraged him to believe that his goal was to win the competition and become a successful musician. Because it was more commercially viable, Esteban brought Esteban to TrendZ Awards. He changed his surname to Colucci to Torres. Esteban knew the truth, but refused to believe it.
He knew Dixon should win, and he also knew that he was a Torres Torres and not a Colucci. Gus was pleased that he agreed to play along. Oscar revealed to Esteban that Gus tried to kill Luka. Esteban decided to change his mind and do the right thing. Esteban didn’t perform on stage, but instead revealed to the world that Gus was a murderer.
Gus tried to manage the chaos, but it was too late. Oscar was betrayed when he returned to the stage. Gus was also there when Esteban arrived. He saved Oscar. Esteban lost control of his motor after Gus made a series disparaging remarks about Esteban’s father. Esteban punched Gus in the face.
Gus then slipped on the stairs and rolled downward. Oscar ran towards Gus to discover that he had died. He fled quickly from the crime scene. In the final shot, Esteban is being taken by police. Luka was still in hospital. Yes, Luka was capable of waking up from an unconscious condition. Esteban’s witness will help him. Esteban is saved by another Colucci during the credits scene. But maybe not Luka.

Season 2: The Mid-Credits Scene of Rebelde – Season 3 – What are you expecting?
After the Night of the Trendz Awards, the mid-credits took places. Celina Ferrer has returned as principal of EWS and is giving diploma certificates. Nearly everyone was present at the graduation ceremony. Esteban, Luka, and Oscar are all there. The credits show that everything is back to normal for the teens.
Jane and Esteban have a great time, while MJ is with Dixon. They will likely be reuniting soon, this suggests. Luka on the other hand plans to travel to New York in order to meet Oscar and fulfill the promise they made. Last but not least, Andi’s love interest Emilia Alo returns to school. Celina is seen talking to Emilia. Emilia will most likely find a route to Emilia’s re-admission or a job for Emilia so that she doesn’t have to go back to her homeland as her VISA expired.
The scene ends with Oscar Cabarga Negrete, who is being held by police for Gustavo Bauman’s murder. Luka tries to help, but Oscar Cabarga Negrete was arrested by the police for Gustavo Bauman’s death. Esteban discovers Oscar’s arrest, and decides that he will pursue the police to find the truth. Marcelo Colucci stops him however, as Colucci protects his own. What does this all mean?
Marcelo used all his influence to defend Esteban following Gus’s murder. He persuaded police officers to give Oscar custody. Oscar was present at the scene of the accident but he wasn’t the one pushing Gus. In Season 3 of “Rebelde”, Luka will defend Oscar and prove his innocence in a police investigation. Marcelo will make every effort to help Esteban.
Esteban will make final decisions. Esteban can choose to tell truth and do the right things. His quest to save Oscar may cause a rift between Esteban and Luka, who will play a major role in Season 3.
