“Seirei Gensouki – Spirit Chronicles” is a Japanese animation based on the book written by Yuri Kitayama. The novels were released on the ‘Shosetsuka Ni Naro’ (Let’s Become Novelists) website in February 2014. Hobby Japan published its light novel adaptation in October 2015. Futago Minaduki released the manga adaptation in July 2017 and seven volumes. An anime adaptation directed by Osamu Yamasaki (Hakuoki series) and featuring animation made by TMS Entertainment released in Japan beginning in July 2021. The anime was streamed on Crunchyroll.
It was a huge success and many viewers adored the show very much. They are now eagerly awaiting the next season and we’re here to give them some information.

Will ‘Seirei Gensouki Spirit Chronicles Season 2 be Renewed?
The anime series is renewed for season 2. The official Japanese site of the show announced the news on 5th of November 2021.
The announcement stated: “The second production of the television anime “Seirei Gensouki” has been decided!”

When Will Seirei Gensouki Spirit Chronicles Season 2 Release?
Season 1 premiered in the summer of 2021, with a total of twelve episodes. At the time of writing we have no confirmation of when “Seirei Gensouki: Spirit Chronicles” Season 2 will be released. Director Osamu Yamasaki said that the next season “will take a little longer to broadcast.” This means that fans will have to wait some time before the return of the series.

What Is The Plot Of ‘Seirei Gensouki Spirit Chronicles’ Season 2?
“Seirei Gensouki: Spirit Chronicles” follows the story of Rio, an orphaned child living in the streets. At seven years old, he discovered that he was the Reincarnation of Haruto Amakawa, an infamous Japanese university student who had a tragic history.
Then, he discovers that he is a magician and utilizes his powers to solve the kidnapping of a young girl. His deeds of kindness are recognized and, as a reward, he’s admitted into an elite academy for the most noble of children.
The first season of “Seirei Gensouki Spirit Chronicles” reached a halt in the fifth volume in the series’ light novels. Therefore, we are expecting season 2 to begin adapting Volume 6. The story in this arc sees Rio go to the trading town of Amande to buy things and discover more about the summoning of heroes. Seirei Gensouki: Spirit Chronicles manga/light novel series is compared to the anime
The plot of the anime is an adaptation of the Seirei Gensouki ~Konna Sekai de Deaeta Kimi Ni light novel by writer Yuri Kitayama and illustrator Riv. The light novel was from Volume 20 by September 1st 2021.
Like other light novels in the isekai series, the story started as a self-published web book on the Shosetsuka Ni Naro website. The novel was split into 10 story-arcs, and concluded by releasing chapter 199 on October 30th and November 30, 2020.
The Seirei Gensouki light novel adaptation significantly altered and rearranged the chronology of the events. Certain significant events with Rio’s objectives were brought prior to the goals. Certain characters were assigned new roles in the light novel, in order to appear more frequently in the books.
Even the character of Rio was altered. In the web-based novel, the character was more Haruto with memories of Rio, consequently, his behavior in certain situations reflected the character of the modern Japanese man. The protagonist in the light novel was depicted as Rio with Haruto’s memories and abilities. The difference is in his moral beliefs and how he responded to the world surrounding him.
It is important to note in Episode 9/Volume 4, that this is the point at which the story begins to clearly diverge from the web-based novel.
The web-based novel didn’t conclude because the story was not complete. The web novel was allegedly in violation of the rules of the website since certain people believed that the novel was continuing with commercial novels.
The author was of the opinion it was her intention to write both stories according to the guidelines. But, due to some doubt that she could not resolve, she decided to end the novel online and hasn’t yet released Chapter 200.

In the year 2016, Kitayama teamed up with artist Futago Minaduki in the creation of an adaptation of the Seirei Gensouki manga adaptation. In August 2021 the Manga adaptation was at Volume 7 that includes all the way to Chapter 36.
North American publisher J-Novel Club has released an official English translation of manga and The light novels book series. On the 18th of March, 2022 it was reported that the English light novels were available up at Volume 18. As of March 18, 2022, the English Spirit Chronicles manga was in Volume 7 by February 14, 2022. When a light novel is converted to an episodic television format it is inevitable to have the story and characters reduced. Sometimes, the anime adaptation may be identical to the manga adaptation, which has to accept such compromises to the format, but sometimes the cuts in anime are further.
In this particular instance it appeared that the initial goal was to conclude the first storyline of the show in Episode 12. The result was that entire characters were eliminated and unneeded action sequences such as drunken bar fights were omitted.
Even the very first episode did not include some of the content and also removed one prostitute named Gigi. She was close to Rio and even paid him to eat, which explains why he remained in the gang in spite of the gang’s negligence. Gigi and her sister Angela were determined to save enough money to open a store.
The dream of Gigi came to an end when the masked killer killed her as well as the other men who were part of the group. A few years later, Rio runs into Angela and her daughter, who live to have their dream realized.
Episode 1 skipped a lot of subterfuges that change the way viewers view anime characters. The king didn’t just give Rio the scholarship in the name of charity or as a reward. Episode 5 accelerated the pace, reducing the majority of a chapter to a montage, and the episode skipped a lot of information concerning Latifa. In the episode, when Rio was taken to the cell to be frozen into death Latifa became incredibly angry after she discovered.
The show also did not include Latifa having a relationship with children older than her: lion boys Arslan along with Vera. The show did not mention that one of the three elders of the village, Ursula, was the great-grandmother of Latifa who could be one of the primary reasons why Rio was treated with respect. Rio.
For Rio the film, it skimped a few moments of preludes where Rio dreamed of speaking to Miharu before going on a school excursion. Although it’s not a huge deal as the anime was adapted into Volume 3, it still could have served as an example of the significance of the girl who was in Rio’s life before she showed on the scene.
However the anime did present some original foreshadowing that was good by introducing Griffin the mercenary commander Lucius Orgueille in the flashback. In addition, the series didn’t provide any explanations of the distinctions between magic and spirits, something that is strange considering that a reference to the spirit arts is actually in the title of the show.
Spirit arts permit the user to control the energy of their lives, also known as the od for control over mana which is the natural energy. Magic spell formulas are simpler for humans to master because they don’t have the ability to sense the od or detect mana however, users of spirit arts may be more effective after having been they are trained. Spirit arts users don’t have to use chanting or magic circles. They are also able to communicate with spirits, as by contacting Rio or Aishia.
Episodes 7-9 were adapted to Volume 3 in which Rio was able to locate his parents within his home in the Yagumo region. There were a few minor scenes that were not included in the anime , but the most noticeable modification was the way in which the raw violence of the brutal beating Rio handed to Gon was diminished.
The raw emotion are portrayed in the scene in which Rio told his parents that he was that the Karasuki Kingdom emperor and empress the passing of their daughter was also minimized. The show also did not give a reason as to the reason Rio could not be declared royal.
There was a general protest from readers of light novels as the adaptation pace began in earnest with Episode 10, in order to complete Volumes 4 and 5 in three episodes. As we’ve mentioned before that the anime altered the introductions of the protagonists Ayase Miharu Aki Sendou and Masato Sendou as they appeared in the first video.
It wasn’t an insignificant alteration since their story was the major focus of Volume 4 in an ongoing adventure that lasted for months. This information isn’t a matter of omission because the six massive glowing pillars are the first sign of the hero summonings which provide the foundation for future plot development.
The anime didn’t provide any explanation for the mysterious colored beams of light , and consequently did not discuss the summoning of Ayase’s best friend Sumeragi Satsuki. However, because she isn’t a major character until Volume 8 , that’s an insignificant point.
Instead of exploring the story prior to the episode, Episode 10 went into Rio going to Latifa on Latifa’s Spirit Village and showed how the bound spirit Aishia acquired an actual body. In the beginning, Aishia’s inner voice was telling Rio the best place to look for Miharu and the others, but the inclusion of Aishia with Rio before the timeline actually made a difference.
However, this kind of story condensing has become common in the industry of anime. A typical single-cour anime season with 12 episodes can be adapted between 3 and six light novels.
It’s still a bit odd that the show didn’t give much screen time on Rio’s reunion Haruto Amakawa’s childhood sweetheart who was never redeemed. The contrast is quite striking when you think about how Episode 9 dealt with the emotional anticipation of Sayo in the aftermath of Rio’s departure. It’s like the series required an episode like Spirit Chronicles Episode 13 in order to conclude the story correctly.
Overall the season’s first finale Seirei Gensouki: Spirit Chronicles Episode 12 was a turning place that is similar to the volume 5 of the light novel, Silver Bride (despite the rearrangements).
It’s the most effective way to end the series as Volume 4 marks the conclusion of the intro story sequence and Volume 5 gives the viewers of anime only a sense the conclusion of the plot and resolution with regard to Celia.
The positive side is that there’s a lot of original material to create Seirei Gensouki: Spirit Chronicles Season 2. Plus, only English-speaking readers who would like to keep reading before the anime can skip into Volume 6 in the English Vol. 6.
The downside is the Seirei Gensouki: Spirit Chronicles manga isn’t completely finished adapting the events from volume 4 of the light novel. Manga fans will have to wait for a while before beginning to read.

Seirei Gensouki Season 2 anime spoilers (plot synopsis/summary)
After being successful in rescuing Celia from her forced marriage to the noble and evil Charles Arbor, Rio travels to the town of Amande to buy things and learn more about the summonings of heroes. One of Rio’s main objectives is to locate Lucius Orgueille, the man who sexually assaulted and killed Rio’s mother Karasuki.
To fulfill Celia’s desire to inform her father about her security, Rio attempts to infiltrate the Claire estate. In the suburbs of Amande with Aishia and Celia, he wows Celia by demonstrating his Spirit Art and spatial storage abilities and a mobile home. He also tells Celia about his previous experience as a Japanese university student however Celia is more worried about the fact that he’s a bit older than her!
On the way back to Amande after attending Celia’s failed wedding, Liselotte runs into unanticipated troubles together with princess Flora and Sakata, who is the Beltrum hero. In the direction of Reiss the carriage is assaulted by monsters!
