When Will Kaleidoscope Season 2 Release Date?

Netflix manipulated our minds with their non-linear series Kaleidoscope and we are waiting impatiently for season 2

Eight episodes follow the history of a major heist, with each episode named after a color. You can watch them in any order. The eighth and final episode, “White,” will always be at the end of Netflix subscribers’ Netflix accounts. The remaining seven episodes are presented in random order, so viewers can choose to follow the algorithm or create their own order.

Although Kaleidoscope’s presentation is unusual and unorthodox, its eight episodes are full of surprising stories. Kaleidoscope tells the story of a heist, its planning, execution, and how it is affected by the outcome. You’d expect unexpected events from a story this length, but it also has a great climactic end (or in the case of Kaleidoscope, both endings).

Kaleidoscope Before Season 2

Kaleidoscope Before Season 2

Before tackling season 2, we’ll talk a bit about the previous season.

Kaleidoscope’s Timeline and Ending Explained

There is no perfect crime. Not even in . The new series of heist anthology stories, which spans 24 years, shows a band of thieves getting caught up in a web that includes FBI chases and greed, as well as ulterior motives to steal $7 billion worth of bonds.

The viewers, just like the heist thieves, go through their own journeys. Each viewer watches seven episodes in a random order before reaching the final. Creator Eric Garcia tells Tudum that being able to move around and see different episodes gives you a different perspective on the characters. There are many questions that will be answered in one episode, but not in another.

We’re glad you’ve completed all eight episodes. Now, let’s put the pieces together.

What happens in Kaleidoscope chronologically

Violet: Violet was 24 years old before

Violet: Violet was 24 years old before

Ray (Giancarlo Esposito), and Graham (Rufus Sewell), are bound by their friendship because of crime. Ray returns home to Lily (Robinne Lee) and Hannah (Austin Elle Fisher) after each job. Graham, however, lives a simple, carefree life. Ray is almost killed when a job goes wrong and he ends up in a safe. He can’t risk his life with a young family.

Lily takes Hannah to work one day at a fancy country club. Hannah is just like little children, she wanders about and gets into trouble. Lily’s boss scolds her, then fires Lily. However, he is not racist towards the family. Ray teams up with Graham to rob the club in an attempt to get back at his former employer. Ray is able to grab a valuable necklace but things go terribly wrong when the building bursts into flames and Lily is caught in the fire. Graham is the only one capable of saving her. However, when he hears police sirens, Graham flees and allows his best friend to die.

Ray sends Hannah to live in the home of Ava (Paz Vega), after Lily’s passing, before he goes to prison. Graham is free from all consequences. Ray is determined to punish Graham for his treachery as he sits behind bars.

Green: Seven years ago

Green: Seven years ago

Ray is diagnosed with Parkinson’s while he’s in prison. Ray is motivated by this reality check to make a connection with Hannah (Tati Gabrielle) and to share his life choices. Stan (Peter Mark Kendall), his cellmate, helps him plan an escape. Stan fails to succeed, but he does so to let Ray escape. Ava, who is assigned to the case by the FBI, Nazan Abassi (Niousha Noror), assists Ray in faking his death.

Ray is now a free man, but not quite. He learns that Hannah works for Graham and also takes on the identity of Roger Salas. He is a successful family man and the CEO of SLS Security, the largest security company on the East Coast. Hannah learns the truth from Leo about Roger’s death and her mom’s passing. To retaliate against his friend, he plans the biggest heist he has ever planned.

Seven years later, Hannah still works at SLS and is thriving in her job. Roger brings in three major clients, the Triplets. They control half a billion dollars and have $7 billion in untraceable bonds in their vaults. This is Leo’s dream job. Leo’s daughter acts as a mole inside and Leo forms a team of thieves to steal the bonds.

Ava is a forger, arms dealer, Stan helps to source materials, RJ (Jordan Mendoza), Judy (Rosaline Elbay) is a chemist, and Bob (Jai Courtney), assists with safecracking. The group pulls off an elaborate heist by stealing a diamond in a smash-and-grab heist.

Orange: Three weeks before

After discovering Ava’s fingerprints from the diamond theft, Agent Nazan has returned to Ava’s side. Nazan, a recovering addict, keeps her job as a means to stay clean. Her past will soon be used against Nazan. Nazan eventually links Ava with other heist members, leading her to Leo. Ava resists her attempts to convince her to become a mole for the FBI. Ava accuses Nazan of drug possession to get the FBI agent out of her way.

Ava isn’t out of the loop. Police take away her nanny Teresa (Irene DeBari), the only member of her family. Ava is given a final ultimatum by Nazan: either work with the FBI, or Teresa will be deported to ICE. Ava cannot lose Teresa so she agrees to work with Nazan.

Blue: Five days before

It is the last minute before the heist. Stan and Bob argue over Judy as Leo goes over the detailed plan with his team. Bob suggests to Judy that they take all of the money. Roger gets a mysterious call from someone claiming that nothing is secure. Roger, a bit spooked, increases the security at SLS.

White: The Heist

White: The Heist

New York City is being battered by a hurricane, but it won’t stop the heist. The team is assembled, and security measures are in place. The thieves then sneak into the SLS vault. The night starts out well, but the team’s distrust causes problems. The team has to improvise on their original plan due to a broken water main. This allows them to secure the bonds and keep the FBI away.

Ava does not betray her team, and Nazan is misinformed about the location of the heist. Hannah, the true mastermind, is going to play havoc with everyone. Hannah and her adopted sister Liz Soojeong Son intercept the bonds as they are being transported to RJ’s getaway truck. They pack most of the bonds in FedEx boxes and distribute to the Triplets. A few thousand dollars are left for the heist team.

The heist members become bitter as the feds approach. Judy kills RJ. Bob shoots at Stan. Judy strangles Bob. Ava runs with the getaway truck, believing the bonds are still there. Leo has a plan B. The heist fails, but it is not a disaster. He enters the flooded vault, where he places the necklace he took from the club heist 24 years ago in its place.

As the remaining heist crew attempts to find out what went wrong, morale is low. Judy discovers that there is a rat in the group, even though no bonds are visible. Bob is presumed to be dead, and RJ is gone (and actually dead). So who could it possibly be? Leo doesn’t know where the bonds are, but he does know.

The FBI arrives at SLS to begin its own investigation. Hannah assures them that the bonds are safe, even though they aren’t in a vault. Roger is arrested after the FBI discovers the necklace from the country club. Although Leo may not have been able to get the bonds, he did get his sweet revenge at the end.

Pink: Six months after

Roger is now in prison for grand larceny and identity theft, as well as murder. The remaining heist members are also in hiding and losing their money. Bob is still alive. He is back in the photo, hoping to reunite Judy, who is currently on the run alongside Stan.

Bob and his goons kill Ava and her nanny Teresa. He’s determined to take down Stan next. He is shot and killed by Nazan before he can finish the job. She is determined to find the truth, but she mysteriously falls and then dies. Officially, the case is also dead.

Leo has nothing to lose and his health is deteriorating. He reaches out to Hannah to help him. Hannah now has a child of her own. Roger is also present in prison, and he gets closure on the country club heist. Leo is being followed by a man with a gun as he leaves prison. A shot is heard as Leo walks into a tunnel. The screen turns pink and fades to black.

Is Leo really dead?

Is Leo really dead?

Garcia explained that Garcia isn’t trying to decide if Leo died or lived, but rather that Leo will forever be in a loop. Even if it is metaphorically, the cycle will continue in some way.

The eight-episode series contains many Easter eggs, but the most important clues point to the fate of each character. Characters whose names are palindromes (Pap. Salas. Ava. Bob. RJ Jr., Nazan) end up either dead or in prison. It’s up to the reader to decide if Leo is dead or alive. Hannah’s name, which is also a palindrome for Hannah, can be broken out of the cycle and she eventually spells her name “Hanna” in the Pink episode.

The cast of Kaleidoscope season 2?

The cast of Kaleidoscope season 2?

The original series featured a large ensemble cast, with Giancarlo Esposito and Paz Vega as the main stars. The series also featured Jai Courtney and Rufus Sewell as well as Tati Gabrielle and Peter Mark Kendall.

We don’t know who will join Kaleidoscope season 2 because Netflix has not confirmed a sequel.

Kaleidoscope Season 2 Plot

Kaleidoscope Season 2 Plot

It’s difficult to predict what the second season will look like because we don’t know much about it. Kaleidoscope’s first season also featured a story about an actual-life heist. It was reported that $70 billion in bonds were taken from Manhattan during Hurricane Sandy 2012. This show is much more entertaining because it presents the same event from multiple angles in a creative manner.

Cosmopolitan suggests that season 2’s storyline might look more like an “anthology” series if it receives a second season. So that story could end in the first series, but it could go in different directions or be something like Money Heist.

Review Before To Watch Kaleidoscope Season 2

Review Before To Watch Kaleidoscope Season 2

Netflix is a streaming service that allows you to do whatever you like with it, but they aren’t afraid to try new things and push the envelope. It’s evident that the streamers are trying to create shows that aren’t available elsewhere, with interactive quizzes and “choose your own ending” adventures. Kaleidoscope, like any experiment, will have teething issues.

Kaleidoscope, a heist drama, has the unique feature of being able to watch all episodes at once. This is a great idea in theory, and it’s one this series attempts to exploit. It works in some ways, but it’s not perfect. You will have a different experience depending on which episodes are viewed.

Some plot twists and turns late in the timeline make it redundant and reduce tension. There is also a lack of characterisation in some of the heist members. Some even act completely out of character during certain moments. This is before we mention the narrative, which is at best mediocre and at worst painfully repetitive.

Review Before To Watch Kaleidoscope Season 2

What is Kaleidoscope? The show is loosely inspired by real events and centers on the biggest heist ever attempted. Leo, a veteran of the field, is the core of the story. Roger is the head of security company SLS, and Leo wants to get revenge on Roger. He also happens to have billions of unclaimed bonds, which could make Leo a very lucrative payday.

Leo isn’t able to do it all alone so he’s joined on his journey by a variety of players who each have their sights on the prize. Leo has his old prison friend Stan as his getaway driver, and Ava, his oldest friend, is joined by Bob and Judy, an oddball couple. They work together to steal from SLS and pull off a great heist.

Although the order of the episodes can greatly affect how the story works, it is clear that chronological viewing will be the best way to see this. Although the “Pink” episode feels like the end of the story, if you haven’t seen it yet, the major plot revelations and character payoffs in this chapter will ruin the rest.

We watched the show several times for the purpose of this review. The first time was in the order Netflix has chosen. (Listen to the episode guide above!) We changed the order of the second viewing. This is because we prefer the chronological order. The story flows better this way. You could argue that “Violet”, which is a flashback episode, takes place 24 years prior to the heist. It could also be played right before it.

Review Before To Watch Kaleidoscope Season 2

Kaleidoscope isn’t very good, aside from the odd order of episodes and the gimmick that you can watch it in any order. There have been many heist dramas, including Prison Break, The Great Heist, and La Casa De Papel. These shows showed how to create strong characters and an exciting plot that involves a heist. The story of Kaleidoscope has serious problems.

One, almost everyone isn’t given a clear personality. Many of these characters are basically one-note actors that lack depth or gravitas. The supporting characters all want more time to look into their pasts, and the character arcs feel unsatisfying (especially when you view it in another order) or oddly one-dimensional at best. The story is filled with plot holes and contrivances that require you to suspend disbelief for large portions of the run-time.

Kaleidoscope is a fun tool and a great idea. This feels more like a beta version than a fully developed idea. It’s a very unique show with a great hook. We will be watching what Netflix does with the concept. Kaleidoscope is a mediocre heist that feels less like the best.
