Himejima Gyomei is a demon slayer and the Pillar of Rock.

APPEARANCE GYOMEI HIMEJIMA DEMON SLAYER

Gyomei is a muscular and tall man. He has short, curly black hair, and below it is a scar running horizontally along his forehead. Gyomei is born blind, so his eyes are devoid of iris or pupils. It is common to see him crying.

Gyomei has a typical demon slayer’s outfit, and has the olive happie over it. Gyomei also wears a big bead of red around his neck. Outside of battle, he has a rosary of red within his arms.

When he fights Muzan, Gyomei loses his left leg.

PERSONALITY GYOMEI HIMEJIMA DEMON SLAYER

Despite his unique style of behavior and speech, Gyomei is described as an extremely kind and caring person. Gyomei is not a smiler and often is crying, which can lead him to seem like a weirdo. Additionally, he is extremely distrustful of children. His history has led him to doubt children and, more generally, those around him.

He is also known to be very religious. He is always carrying his prayer beads as well as offering his prayers in stressful situations. He knows exactly what people are capable of, specifically youngsters or people younger than him, when they are given the chance. Because of his insecure nature, it could take some time to get Gyomei to completely believe in and trust other people. When he is open and welcomes others into his world, he is committed to them.

HISTORY GYOMEI HIMEJIMA DEMON SLAYER

Before Gyomei became a demon slayer and Pillar of Stone, he lived alongside nine orphaned children and raised them within his temple. The region they resided in was known for its frequent attacks by demons, which is why when it was time to go to bed, Gyomei often lit candles with wisteria to deter any demons that could cause harm to him or his children.

One day, one child broke one of the laws in the temple and fled it in the night, resulting in a confrontation with an evil spirit. To save his existence, the kid instructed the demon to devour the other children, including Gyomei. At night, the child took out all incense and allowed the demon to go into the temple.

Four children were killed instantly, while the rest left the temple, disregarding Gyomei’s requests to stay. His small stature and lack of vision caused the children to doubt Gyomei’s abilities to guard them, causing them to leave him and ultimately be killed by the demon in the end. In the end, only Sayo, the smallest of the children, was able to listen to Gyomei and then hid behind him.

It is not known what happened, Gyomei received a cut on his forehead by the claws of the demon. The demon quickly reversed his course and began to brutally attack Gyomei. Upon realizing that the demon had an “frightening amount of hidden power,” he continued to batter him until the sun went up and the demon was killed.

Afterward, many people rushed to assist, but Sayo, who was shocked and terrified, revealed false details, stating: “This man is a monster. He killed them. He killed everyone.”

Gyomei was later imprisoned after murdering seven children, however Kagaya Ubuyashiki interceded, then Gyomei was released prior to his execution for false allegations. Then Gyomei was a demon slayer and was later turned into a Stone Pillar.

SKILLS AND POWER OF GYOMEI HIMEJIMA DEMON SLAYER

As a demon slayer’s Pillar, Gyomei is a very skilled swordsman. Tanjiro and Inosuke claim that Gyomei is the best hunter within the entire group. This is also confirmed by Kokushibo’s First Moon, where he said that Gyomei’s physical capabilities are now at their absolute heights. He also stated that he’d never met an opponent like Gyomei over the last 300 years. He could take on the most powerful High Moon for only a short duration without the demon slayer tag. NATURAL SKILLS

• Enhanced Strength Prior to the training began, Gyomei possessed great inhuman strength despite his slender physique when he first discovered his talents. He also uses his strength to pull an enormous boulder, far bigger than him, through the city with his personal “Repetitive Action” method.
• Enhanced Hearing As a blind person, one could conclude that Gyomei has great hearing. He can also hear the sound of the flesh rebirthing of Muzan during their brief battle.
• Improved Reflexes During the battle, Kokushibo noted that unlike Gyomei’s massive physique and quick reflexes, he was quick and was able to effortlessly move throughout his body in order to stay clear of all of his attacks. Upper Moon even remarked that it was hard to believe in the ease and grace of his movements.
• Demon Slayer Mark Afterward, in a fight against The First High Moon, Gyomei discovered that he had also activated his mark and was able to display the large number of tattoos that were blackened across both of his forearms. When activated, it drastically boosts his strength, which allows him to take on with the Upper Moon for a long duration. He was not able to harm Kokushibo without Sanemi’s assistance and he wouldn’t be badly injured while fighting Kokushibo without Muichiro’s and Sanemi’s aid.
